Re: RS6 Stolen

The reason it wasn't picked up earlier is the building has a vhf / gps jammer and is set up as a faraday cage. Only when they got sloppy and used my car for a job did it get picked up. They made a mistake to take it back but they had something in the boot and they had parked it up to be chopped. Due...

Re: RS6 Stolen

Just seen it and taken photos. I'd be surprised if it's not written off. There is an upside of this if there are ever any positives. They stole my vehicle and due to its age got sloppy. They used it for a job and assumed it had no tracker as it had been a week since it was stolen. Now a full chop sh...

Re: RS6 Stolen

My head says I don't want it back but you don't buy a C5 RS6 using your head. I've told them I don't want it back as it may have underlying faults. It has quarter panel damage and broken windows, so I've been told. Brakes will probably be shot as well and no doubt the wheels and tyres fooked. The th...

Re: RS6 Stolen

I would think these days that loss adjusters would struggle to argue the toss that the RS6 value is peanuts, if you have a specific spec and mileage etc then it should be easy to prove what current prices are for well sorted models. :nogarors4: It's a difficult one as the price it's been valued at ...

Re: RS6 Stolen

It's sod's law. No one has a car stolen before they've spent a fortune on everything :( Are you going to get another? Not for a while, Having it stolen twice in 3 years and knowing we've been watched at home to track our movements is too much for now. If we move house I'll consider it. <beep> that ...

Re: RS6 Stolen

It was near Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

I don't expect to see it again and neither do the insurance. Shame if it's broken, such a waste.
They could have taken it before I ploughed thousands into it recently.

Re: RS6 Stolen

Cheers, it looked like engine oil. The oil cooler pipes had only just been replaced sadly. Old cars are ripe for breaking especially if you've not paid for them and there is still RS tax on new spares. They are in high demand on eBay etc. Engine and Gearbox £3.5k and RNS-E £500 before you start on i...

Re: RS6 Stolen

I've spent in the region of £3k in the last year. Just really got her back to where she was 3 years ago when it was stolen. It picked up a few mechanical gremlins which I was happy to see the back of. The more I think about the scum that have taken it, the more it winds me up. Last time the Police w...

Re: RS6 Stolen

It takes some brassneck to shift it off the drive in the day. They really have taken the piss. This is twice some scumbag has had her now. The oil all over the driveway means they obviously didn't care about being careful.
If I was a betting man I'd guess it's being dismantled as I type.

Re: RS6 Stolen

Sadly I think they will probably break it.

Last one is when they used it on Fifth Gear.

RS6 Stolen

After 4 fantastic years of ownership my RS6 has been stolen from my house for a 2nd time but this time in broad daylight in the middle of the day. This time they have used a car transporter to drag it off my drive and ferry it away. Quite a specific MO and hopefully they get caught. They left a trai...

Re: Engine Out

At the same time - 500 quid labour? I'd take that one on the chest for this job - compared to the time & effort of a full engine out... Labour for the rack change would have been £324 inc VAT and the replacement rack about the same. Fortunately I've landed on my feet for once this time round but al...

Re: Engine Out

Literally just got her back on the drive after a public transport adventure to get to PSI this morning. I think I can consider myself one lucky punter as when they took a closer look at the steering rack they found the banjo washers on the pipes to the steering rack knackered leaving me a bill for 4...

Re: Engine Out

I've currently got the car at PSI tuning who are changing the rack in situ which is a relief to the bank balance. They have got it down to 6 hours labour having carried out a few.
I'll let you know how I get on as they seem really helpful and are looking at a few other jobs I had on the back burner.

Probably more hassle than it's worth taking the car to Afghanistan though.
Lol, probably right.

Cheaper than a stealer though even sending it air freight both ways.

Any suggestions for a garage capable of removing the rack without pulling the engine.
