Re: PARKING SENSORS

Yeah mine was like this when I first bought her. Turned out to be the 2 front ones were faulty. Most of them are pretty easy to get to for changing out, just not the 2 buggers I had to do. Easy to check which are faulty. Simply turn ignition on and select reverse, then go round them one by one putti...

Re: Dead alternator

My alternator went on Xmas Eve last year so I ordered a new one in the holidays and fitted myself. It was tight and a little tricky due to limited space. But I only moved some oil cooler pipes a couple of inches to let me get enough room to drop the old unit out. All in all I think it took me little...

Poor wee Scooby

Enjoyed a nice little drive from Aberdeen to Glasgow over the weekend. Fortunately I'm well aware of the location of all 11 GATSO cameras and spots where the traffic cops sit. Anyway this bug eye Scooby obviously fancied his chances so we played cat and mouse for a bit, slowing down for the luminous...

Re: 2003 RS6 avant

I live in Aberdeen and both cars are about 400 miles away.not much of a choice anywhere near. Hi Sparky, I'm also in Aberdeen and looking to sell my Avant. I'm away offshore this week so won't be back until the end of the month. If you PM your email address I can send you some info and pics. Regard...

Re: Finally got round to my DIY jobs

What was the quality of the under tray like? There was a post awhile ago saying they were of a poor quality these days. I could do with a new one but might get the fibreglass out. The quality of the OE one is pretty good and hard wearing. Mine has a few little imperfections from previous owners but...

Re: Door Handle

You say you have to push, lift and pull before it will open ok. Do you mean that the door drops down a little once opened? Just trying to clarify if the door is dropping due to worn hinge pins and not letting the door mechanism/ latch engage properly. Either that or you can adjust the rods that conn...

Re: Finally got round to my DIY jobs

Hey big Al did you ever upgrade that tv? I added a freeview box a while back. To be fair I've used it twice since. I've hardly even driven my beloved that much due to working away lots. Just makes it all the sweeter when I sit back behind the wheel, still love my RS6, nowhere near bored of it yet!

Re: Finally got round to my DIY jobs

Nice one.......I bet you enjoyed getting down and dirty with her :bigwave: Didn't mind a Bit Amanda. Missed working on my car, I've always done all my own work so that way I am confident what has been done and done properly. It feels like a new car with the intercooler's leaks now sorted or maybe t...

Finally got round to my DIY jobs

Been putting it off for too long but the alternator deciding to pop it's clogs got me started. Refurbed the leaking intercoolers and fitted nice new silicone hoses, finally replaced the 2 pain in the arse front parking sensors, 2 x new drop links, new alternator & belt, fixed the headlight water jet...

Those are the dish on the wheels.
Yep, it's the dish on the wheels.

There is snow on the ground in this pic too.

Well all going to plan I'll be able to squeeze in some time to get in about it for a look this evening.

Sprung a leak ;-(

A little Sunday drive up the coast and an unexpected whine started. So I pulled over and discovered the power steering reservoir was low. Fortunately I was a stone throw from a service station that had some PSF. Topped it up and got the air out the system til the noise subsided. I then drove home pr...

Re: Private plates query

Definitely not an expert on this, but assuming you were looking at buying the old Rover ( G60 *** ) and then transferring it's VRM to your Golf G60, I'd guess that there wouldn't be an issue. I would think that once purchased, the VRM belonging to your Rover is yours to do what you want with ( so l...
