Re: Nuts and bolts

And there's me thinking £5+ for a nut with washer was expensive :) Is there a better parts reference than this: http://www.oemepc.com/audi/part_single/catalog/au/markt/RDW/modell/RS4/year/2007/drive_standart/473/hg_ug/807/subcategory/807000/part_id/251525/lang/e This one doesn't show the nuts with w...

Nuts and bolts

Changing a sidelight and DRL bulb turned into one of those 4 letter word inducing three day marathon events, ultimately needing the bumper dropped, light out etc. In doing so I noticed that I'm missing a few nuts and bolts. Does anyone know of suppliers of these? I've done some Googling and found *s...

Re: Replacing DRC Shocks

drc equipped cars are a pain, why keep something on your car which is a known weak point-they dont stay sorted for long its a gash system, unreliable Put simply, because it works brilliantly. As noted, other bits of the car are also "a pain" to look after properly too. There are some real design flaw...

Re: Replacing DRC Shocks

It's a bit like saying "trouble with the V8 is that it was never as reliable as the 2.0 TDi and much thirstier so really the best course of action is swapping the engine". Or "the bucket seats are always a thief magnet so far better to install standard seats". :) To me these are all things that make...

Re: Headlight Restore

So after a lot of sanding grinding and buffing the outsides of the headlights look amazing. Problem is, as suggested, that the hazing is on the inside. Going to look and see what the cheapest option for getting a new lens is and try to fit it without breaking anything important on the current ones....

Out of stock right now.

Are there any other sources?
They were out of stock when mine went.

They may, of course, have had stock in the intervening period...who knows :)

Re: Headlight Restore

It'll depend on how they've gone fuzzy. If it's on the outside, polishes may work. But I think this normally happens on the inside. One of mine went so bad it was an MOT failure point. New light units are very expensive and the places linked to on here doing repro cases were out of stock...so I boug...

Re: Headlight Bulbs & Bumper Removal

Can't you get these out without removing the bumper?

Long time since I've messed with that part of the car, but I know the DRLs and sidelights can be done without (albeit removing half the skin from your hands!).

Re: DRC failure-specialist recommendations required

IMO DRC is part of what makes the car an RS4. When fully working it's a great system that copes well with anything thrown at it. The pipework went on mine last year. After much soul and wallet searching I decided to repair it properly and retained the DRC. The additional problem with cars as old as ...

Has the boot seal ever been replaced?

Mine had water in the wheel well. New boot seal sorted it. I believe it's a common issue.

Re: SEAT RNSE Sat Nav in B7 RS4...

7 digit postcode is not available on them. Some discs have it, if I recall 2015 had it but otherwise no. It’s not related to the unit, it’s related to the disk. I have 2018 disc in mine at the moment. The MMI is the best feature for me, also I have a high res reverse camera. For me, I’m yet to see ...

Re: SEAT RNSE Sat Nav in B7 RS4...

Quick update - everything is now working as it should. I connected VCDS and it was already coded ok (9 as above for BOSE) but just needed an MMI reboot (hold radio and setup until it restarts). I only changed the startup screen in VCDS. If it helps anyone you stay in the radio section (57) and clic...

Re: Cats and O2 Sensors failing at the same time?

AIUI bad O2 sensors may cause the car to run rich. Which basically means unburnt fuel in the system. And IIRC fuel can kill cats. Not sure why they couldn't check the other side now or why both sensors didn't throw a fault in the first place though. Never ignore CELs unless you know exactly why they...

Re: Clonking rear

Which hard lines and what did it cost to replace? 4 of them (so all of them?). Didn't just have these lines done to be fair. New hose to front brakes, new bleed nipples, new rear discs and pads, control arms and a couple of other bushes replaced, full wheel alignment. A few other bits and pieces pl...
