Re: Mixed bag of daft questions!

Thanks for the comments. Weirdly, the brake wear indicator light has disappeared now. Strange, as I’ve not done anything to the car or even checked out the pads. So I’ll just keep an eye on it 😀 I’ve swapped the wheels over to my set of rotors and the TPMS light has disappeared too. So hopefully I’m...

Re: Mixed bag of daft questions!

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. Apologies for the delay in replying I’ll have a look at the existing pads and connectors and, if they need replacing, go with Brembo (and code out if necessary). I’ll also have a longer search for TPMS sensors, as prices seem to vary widely. And the key re-set works...

Mixed bag of daft questions!

Hi all My poor old ‘07 Avant has been neglected for much of this year for various reasons so is now in need of some minor tinkering and sorting: 1. The thrust bearing is noisy. It’s not got any worse since I bought the car 10 years ago at 47k (it’s now on 68k). It’s not worth just changing the beari...

Thought it was a bit strange to say stay clear of one's with a full audi service history. They are spoken of favourably so can only be a good thing!
I thought that too, but then they’d been speaking to indies who have a vested interest.

Re: First service query/lost service book

Thanks guys, much appreciated. The car was registered in March ‘07 and accordIng to my dealer had its first service in September ‘09 (at 19,576 miles), so at 2.5 years I don’t believe this was its first service. I’m going to insist that they investigate it further and get the FULL history recorded i...

First service query/lost service book

Long story short guys - car went in for a service to main stealers and they’ve lost the service book. :audibash: They’re going to provide me with a duplicate book. I’ve got two questions: 1. They say that, from the service history they’ve managed to recover, the first service was at 19,576 Miles (wh...

Might want to think about getting a battery tender when not using the car for extended periods of time. I don't daily mine so it's always on the tender. [emoji1360]
Yeah, I’ve got a Ctek which I use all the time, but I didn’t have it connected when I went away. Oh well, lesson learned..... :bash:

Re: Battery charging for simpleton

Ah, I’m with you now. Thanks.

Tried charging the car tonight but the alarm (Viper) kept pipping loudly all the time (like the ‘warn-away’ function when someone looks through the window), so I’ll have to talk to Antony at Securemycar.com for advice.

Battery charging for simpleton

Hi all Haven’t used the car for 2+ weeks. Got back off holiday and neighbour said they’d heard the alarm (Viper) going off in the garage but they saw no sign of attempted break in. After a few hours the alarm got weaker then went off. Battery’s obviously flat so unlocked driver’s door with the key. ...
