^wow 140k!!! How much did you buy it for? wow indeed is there a 'highest mileage RS4' thread? A friend has one with 120,000 miles. 140 is the most I've heard. Yep had to tighten mine last month ... Every time I reversed off the drive or did a lock to lock manoeuvre I'd get that clunk ! As much as a pain they are to get to , it beats having to replace the rack

i definatley wouldnt be put off by mileage as long as the car has been well maintaned ....my car is on 140k and still making 390hp with no mods other than a de-flapped inlet manifold.Ive worked on cars that people have payed 19k for with 60k mileage and to be honest they were not any better than min...

I had the revs flaring up when coming to lights a while back Roy .. When I checked over the car I found a small split in the plastic breather pipe that comes from the rocker covers to the back of the engine ... Replaced it and all was well , might be worth giving it a look
