Re: RS3 and S-tronic in S7
GOLF DSG7 does shift to S7 but as I know RS3 does not and I cannot prove to him (last thing will be remap to stock and prove it). Thank you, TT The DSG on the Golf R is only six speed, so a bit different. As long as it changes into 7th in D mode and M mode, I really can't see a problem. As stated a...

It's very addictive actually, especially from around 3000rpm upwards, when the sound gets even more gloriousOli wrote:.....And what is the standard sound system like?

Re: Brake screech - the final straw
Take a looky here :- http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/rs3-forum/174293-owners-brake-squeal-please-register-your-frustrations-here.html There should be an official Audi UK fix coming out in March. In the meantime I'd ring Audi UK and complain, and get a reference number. They are well aware of the problem.

Had a drag with a SEAT Ibiza Cupra 1.4TFSI. Must have been mapped as kept the RS 3 honest up to 100! I'd be worried ... you should have trounced it to 100 :bigwave: Did he have a jump start on you ? ... must have been a Stage 2 map otherwise or something ! http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/seat_ib...

Re: New S3 vs current RS3
I used to have the old S3 and a Golf R DSG ..... Hey there Chins, I remember you from the Golf R forum :bigwave: I think you'll miss the 5-pot if you go for an S3 ... it is IMHO a great combination with the 7 sp S-tronic box with it's low down torque. I know you never liked the Golf R DSG box (well...

Re: Goodbye Conti's Hello Goodyear's!
I had 19" 235/35 Dunlop Sportmaxx GT's on my Golf R. They were quite good IMHO and much better than the older plain Sportmaxx ones. Fairly quiet and good grip ... wear rate was quite high though. Having said that the majority of R owners changed to either Michelin Supersports or Goodyear F1 Asymetri...

Re: Understeer
I've been driving it in ESC "Sport" mode for the last few days, as you suggested Geek
I have to say it feels a bit better, epecially when powering out of corners.
Thanks for the tip

Re: Understeer
Do you mean put the ESC into Sport mode (one brief press of the button) or fully off (hold button in for 3 seconds) ?

Re: Sleeper
Since lifting off the badges the car has vanished. At town speeds it hasn't generated a single second glance and I am loving it. Parked it nose in at the station Monday and it instantly turned into a 2.0 TFSI.....perfect. Yep, that's what I've found too ! Plus the fun of embarrassing the odd driver...
