Re: Wanted RS4 B7 Avant ** low miles and owners **

How about this one? A few more miles but condition looks good: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/audi/rs4/audi-a4-b7-rs4-quattro-2007/5521146?v=b# Looks great but for the mileage and owners its too much when compared with others e.g. that black 1 owner with 48000 miles thats 24999 in...

Re: issues after carbon cleaning

It's possible you have damaged the oil seals, or alternatively had a lump of carbon drop into a cylinder a damage a ring. Does it smoke oil more under load or on coast down in gear?

Re: Stone chip protection

Whilst not exactly what it is for, GTechniq C1 and Exo coatings made a world of difference to my paint. Went from having to touch up most weeks to barely at all.

Re: Misfire under full throttle

Some sort of ignition break down under compression. Check your spark plugs and then coil packs.

VCDS should tell you which cylinder to check first.

Yes you can adjust them with VCDS.

Here is the thread from when I asked about it

Black trim paint code

Like it says on the tin... does anyone know the paint colour / code of the black trims on the doors?

I want to touch up a small chip and want to try and get the right colour.

I think that looks the absolute nuts! I looked at one of these when i was looking for mine. Unfortunately it wasnt clean enough for me, nut was so tempted at the time.

What exactly makes the whole 'optics' thing, be they silver or black?

Re: Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 2) P2020 - 0

That's right it's the passenger side manifold flap position sensor. It's a manifold off job for that one iF I remember correctly, as it's mounted at the rear of the manifold. The drivers side bank 1 is at the front and is accessible without removing the manifold. Although even that one is a right p...

So no need to remove the door card then?
No, they are below the door card. Two little black screws right at the bottom of the door at either end. You cant miss them with the door open

Re: Rs4 owners

Just to echo the others.. Mine also had more owners than I would have considered with most other cars. But it seems with an RS4 they do get through owners faster. I guess it is a case of them being more expensive to run and people don't appreciate it. As above, the guy I got mine from had it a matte...

Re: Servicing - Is it time to go independent

My local audi are rubbish too, so I use an indi who really know their stuff when it comes to audis and bmws.

I did want the audi stamp but its not worth it if the car isnt getting the service it deserves.

Good idea on wrapping up. Wish I did this when I did mine, would have saved on a lot of extra cleaning. I for one didnt appreciate just how much mess it would make.

Re: 3,000 to 8,000 3rd gear test,

Where I am is basically sea level. It was with just over half a tank and a 18-19 degree evening.

It was done after I did a carbon clean with walnut shells. Will log it again in a few weeks and see how it compares once the ecu has re-learnt.
