Goodbye rs4 crash! Still here :)

Glad you are ok mate, had a serious accident myself that I was lucky to walk away from many years ago. Completely changed my perspective and attitude to spirited driving. There is a time and place for having fun, I adopt a much more measured and conservative approach these days. Great cars to drive ...

Re: Suspected Aux Rad Leak

I have noticed the coolant level dropping so a leak is likely. For those that have had the CAF mod does this present any over heating issues in hot weather in start stop traffic as you are effectively removing part of the cooling system? Will a CAF give any performance gains or is it simply a case o...

Suspected Aux Rad Leak

Noticed small amount of steam eminating from front drivers side whilst stationary in traffic. Going to get it checked out. Sod's law that this happens 8 weeks after the dealer warranty expired (purchased the car from an Indy in August). From reading on here though I don't think it's too expensive to...

2013 Easter Ring Trip - 1st - 3rd April 2013

Is the plan to take your pride and joy around the ring, hire a ring taxi or take a track toy? I heard getting insurance for TF days was a nightmare if not impossible? Any recommendations?

Real world MPG

Pretty much the same results as other forum members. Average 25mpg over the 15 mile journey to the office, but that drops to 16-17mpg around town, with similar numbers if I put my foot down. Funnily enough though I find myself driving slower on motorways and dual carriageways than in previous cars.

Re: Another stake in the heart carbon naysayers

I simply dont get how you can say its not a "real world" issue. I am no racing driver and have never tracked my car but the improvement in day to day driveability is dramatic. The car is noticably less lumpy during cold starts and pulls much stronger higher up the rev range. I am also seeing an aver...

Re: VARIOUS HELP PLEASE

I can recommend these guys near Gatwick: http://www.flightpathautos.co.uk/index. ... Itemid=143
Ask for Pat, he just did an awesome job on my RS4 Carbon clean, great price too. He has looked after our family cars for years and is very familiar with RS4's.

Re: " Untouched for 4 years but now off to MRC "

I cant begin to tell you what a difference getting the carbon removed makes. Mine had 6 years and 60k worth so it was pretty bad, completely transformed the car, cold starts are significantly improved, engine runs smoother and pulls stronger. Money very well spent.

Re: Dyno Results

Well just picked the car up and wow, what a difference, so much smoother and stronger, revs strongly all the way to over 8k. No vacuum leaks detected, just 6 years worth of carbon deposits which have now been removed, also had new plugs, oil change and air filter. Will get it back on the rolling roa...

It was the hard limiter and yes I am running a standard exhaust. Thanks Roy, will check the points you have raised.

Re: Dyno Results

Well the initial diagnosis is in... There are more carbon deposits than you can wave a stick at. Fortunately after investigation there are no vacuum leaks in the system nor error codes from VAG COM. I am going up to the indy this afternoon to view it myself and will take some pics. The plan is to re...

Re: Dyno Results

The car still kicks at 5500 just not as significant as it should be, it's booked in Thursday to be checked for any vacuum leaks and to have a look at the state of any carbon build up. Will then decide a plan of action. I don't know if I will get a chance to try the 3-8k thing before thursday morning...

Dyno Results

Took the RS4 up to Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road on Saturday (highly recommended by the way). I have had the car 3 months now and have had my suspicions that it was a little down on power and wanted to get it checked. I was a little disappointed at the 357bhp recorded, although for a 2007 car with ...
