Its definately not remedied by overfilling, and to prove the point, I disconnected the sensor from the cap completely and it still triggered the warning light - so the light is being triggered by a different sensor - so where is this as its not apparent from a visual inspection of the bomb? I unders...

I've just read the link given by Glyn above...I went to test the brake pedal and it feels pretty dead immediately, let alone after 10 pumps! They certainly feel exactly the same whether the engine is running or off, and no different either way after constant pumping, even after 50-odd. The warning l...

Thanks, I'll try overfilling it tomorrow. Just got the car back today after a week after having the turbine house replaced (after waiting 6 months for a part) (I'll photograph the one that's come off for another thread). Unfortunately I didn't check back here in time to tell the mechanic to try this...

RE: cracked turbo manifold replacement

I found the thread... oh, and it was the turbine housing that's cracked and the exhaust manifold that doesn't have to be removed. Embarassing myself with car parts as usual...

cracked turbo manifold replacement

My replacement turbo manifold has finally arrived after a 6 month wait for the German marnufacturer to produce the part. It was cracked, and although some correspondents on this discussion forum suggested that they came cracked :? , I took the (more expensive  ) route of caution to replace - i...

Thanks. I checked the warning type - its the exclamation mark in a circle - so not very helpful.

Simon - I couldn't keep away from bumps - I get huge satisfaction by speeding up when approaching speed bumps - its one of the joys of the RS2!

RE: warning beep on uneven bumps

Thanks Alistair - its the whole warning christmas tree. Brake fluid OK, but I'm clueless here - I didn't know there was a separate hydraulic fluid!

warning beep on uneven bumps

My warning beep goes off every time I go over an uneven bump in the road (also my driveway - its driving me mad!) It has to be a significant bump, ie not just an uneven road surface, and it happens even if I approach it at snails pace. Road humps, where both wheels go over at the same angle of appro...

I remember reading something about the Impreza's incredibly poor handling...caused by your hands easily slipping off the cheap plastic steering wheel...

Hi Mastermind. I'd like a spin in yours...give me a call again (I haven't got your number). My mechanic says leaded fuel destroys the Lamda sensor.... I thought it was quite a big job to change the ECU...?

Is that you I saw in Claremont today?

Rob Did this come right? Sounds EXACTLY like what I recently went through with smoking on acceleration and soot on the rear bumper (I've just posted my story on the "to MOD or not to MOD" thread. As I said, I don't know whether it was the lambda sensor of the modified chip, and it might have been bo...

I bought my car with a Wetteraurer chip fitted by the previous owner (only other minor mod was a free-flow exhaust). The chip gave 245kW and 470nm, and at 3000rpm the kick was brutal - you actually couldn't bring the power on smoothly if you wanted to... But I also had a fuel economy of 50litres/100...

Cape Town RS2's

Just read a thread that asked who's RS2 it was in the car park of the King of the Mountain (Gydo Pass) last year. It was mine  and I swelled with pride when I read it! That's 3 of us in Cape Town...(RalphB, Hiltron and Mastermind) I've got your number Hiltron and I'll being giving you a call as...
