Re: 2003 RS6 Avant for sale.

Hi Ian, No it was not me, although it could have been as I am often around that area. Mine is dark blue, with privacy glass, and debadged so maybe a little less obvious (but the wing mirrors are still silver, as they should be!) It is still not officially on the market yet, due to lack of time/lazin...

Re: 2003 RS6 Avant for sale.

Hi, There was a service missing before I bought it, and the cambelt was way overdue. I have had all these done now and brought it back up to date- gearbox oil, diff oil, all changed, erything done that needs doing. As for the oil leak, I had it checked out properly- it is so small the advice was to ...

2003 RS6 Avant for sale.

I will be putting my RS6 avant up for sale in a few weeks. In the meantime, I will have it MOT'd, minor serviced, valeted, wheels refurbished, and photographed. It will go on Pistonheads and Autotrader at around £12k. Should any members on here be interested in getting in early on this, I will be ab...

Re: Warranty

Sorry, I do know a little more. The leaks are coming from Propshaft to Gearbox (suspected crank seal leak), and Engine to Gearbox. This was picked up by Audi at their inspection. I also know that the leaks are small because I am not seeing drips under the car, and, when I had the gearbox oil changed...

Re: RS6 C5 Carbon Fibre

Sorry, no I wouldn't choose CF myself for the reasons you state (similarly with the metal finish) but the OP wants the CF.
I'm thinking gloss black for mine but it's only a thought at the moment. I have more pressing (gearbox) issues first.

Re: Warranty

Well, that was my plan, but as always I will be guided by more experienced and knowledgeable people. It will cost about £1k to drop the gearbox, replace the seals, gaskets etc. I could do that now, spend £1k, and something else goes wrong and I will have to do it all again- I don't fancy this. I cou...

Re: RS6 C5 Carbon Fibre

Probably of no help, but I have the wood effect which I would like to change. I'm thinking of having it vinyl wrapped instead of changing it. I reckon this will be cheaper, less invasive and give future owners the chance of changing back. Maybe you could try this instead of changing yours- the wrapp...

Re: Warranty

Thanks Maximo, I have done a little more digging, and you are right, I can get my box reconditioned and fitted for around £2-3k, so my current thoughts are to forget the warranty, wait for the box to start to go, then get it done. Maybe after that I will look at getting the warranty again. At the mo...

Re: Warranty

Just wanted to update, re Inchcape warranty, for interest and maybe to help others in future. I was booked in yesterday at Audi in Swindon for my inspection. They found a couple of oil leaks which meant they were not able to include the engine or gearbox in the warranty. (Leaks at either end of gear...

Re: MRC RS6 530bhp A17VNT for sale.

I enquired about this car a few weeks ago. I'm sure I was told it was sold, but only a deposit had been taken, and he had given the customer until the end of March to pay the rest. Therefore the plan was to leave it advertised until he received the payment. I guess if he does not get the money by th...

Re: Warranty

Thanks all, especially Amar, appreciate your help.

I have had a browse and it seems Inchape is the best for me. I'll get in touch with them and see if I am eligable.

Warranty

Hi, Just purchased an RS6 Avant, 2003, 85k and a (slightly) patchy service history. Can anybody reccommend a decent warranty for this? I'd rather pay a bit more and know everything is covered- I would not want to have to fight with the company every time something needs doing. Ideally looking for a ...
