Re: Service reset
It was on standard servicing. I think I'll leave it a while and see what happens. Independent said it may be something to do with my instrument cluster. I take it this is unlikely?

Re: Service reset
In addition to the garage trying using their various equipment, I've done the manual reset method suggested myself, lines come up on dash and then a few hundred miles later it shows 600 miles?

Service reset
I've had my car serviced and although the service indicator has been reset, the car calculates 500 miles to the next service? It's been reset twice now and the same thing happens? Any ideas what the garage are doing wrong?

Re: Avant - condensation in rear light clusters
I've finally sorted the condensation problem without silicone. Found some 'P' profile draught excluder in the shed. Chopped it down to make it a 'D' profile, peeled the sticky back off and it fit perfectly into the lights recess(making sure the join was at the bottom of the light). It was a snugger ...

Avant - condensation in rear light clusters
That's right the dealer told me I needed new lights. I believe a slight misting on the reversing light section is normal but my o/s light was getting droplets too. I originally took the light off and reversed the seal which worked for about a month. Anyway I've now tried placing a thin strip of the ...

When I was going to get rid of my cradle I was told interior repairers could fill the holes and re texture to match? Might be an option?

Alloy Dilemma...
I got mine painted chrome. Look like a bright silver when clean and then to almost a light gun metal colour when covered in a bit of brake dust.

Oil cooler and pipes under warranty?
Agreed it states breakdown but unlike other warranty companies they have over the years been very flexible on this. Its the call out thats important. Like I say my parents got their car repaired having called the AA out to look at the car on their drive and I did exactly the same for a very similar ...

Oil cooler and pipes under warranty?
A warranty I have used over the years is the AA vehicle repair warranty to cover wear and tear items. You just have to call the AA out to your vehicle. Call them out and as long as it would be unsafe to continue or start your journey they pay out. My parents just got the oil seal on the bottom of th...

Newbie Owner - Newbie Question...
200 if you nurse it round town, but that's almost impossible. Good thing is though that I tend to get low 20's mpg on the motorway no matter if I do 70 or above. Therefore at higher speeds I think it's good considering the engine size. I had a 535d that would only do late 20's mpg at high motorway s...

Oil cooler and pipes under warranty?
On my last service it was noted the pipes were showing signs of corossion. Is there any maintenance you can do to the pipes ie cover in hammerite or the like or will this cause more harm than good?

Avant - condensation in rear light clusters
I was told today by preston audi that to replace the removable rubber/foam seal that prevents water entering the rear cluster(seal is visible when changing rear light bulbs) I have to replace the rear clusters at a cost of £165. Having had the rear cluster out to dry out the light on a previous occa...

Avant water in plastic hat surround
Thanks for the link. I'd done loads of searching but just found the water in the boot/round the battery problem. I'll check the hatch lights seals as this does seem the likely problem. Thanks

Avant water in plastic hat surround
Can anyone help on this one? I've had the boot tray out and there's nothing actually getting in the boot. Today once again when I lifted the hatch you could hear quite a large volume of water glug out or the top of the hatch where the plastic surround meets the metal of the boot?
