Happy Christmas everyone

I'll like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New year. This forum has been a source of information, community and occassional banter that has undoubtabley enriched my c5 RS6 experience over the past 13 years. I'm grateful for Phil for starting the website and ...

Re: After run fans

I know the car is running a lot “cooler” since I had all that work done. I can only compare the fans to how they used to behave. On the old fan. Every time I switched the engine off the fan would run on for a couple of mins. On the new fan not so. I will investigate a bit further on future trips ou...

Ron, that's a really nice job and great video.
In 12 years i've never locked myself out, but ??
Would you be up for doing that for other forum members?

Re: Wheeler Dealers Nov 20th RS6 C5

Ooh nice. £12.5k seems a lot but maybe the values are going up. I’d want full cambelt change, coolant swap, brake fluid change and gearbox service if it’s been sitting for 5 years. Agreed, however with the extra servicing done it looks like a nice example. We all know they (like most cars ) need co...

Re: What's left of the old girl has gone up for sale

Nick,
I'm tempted to buy her off you for spares, as I know how much time and effort you put into it.
However I think that it would be better for someone to get her back on the road.
Hope you get on well with the C8, but don't forget your old buddies on the C5 forum.
Best wishes
Ric

Looks good and high quality.
Wouldn't be practical for me (too many speedbumps etc)
Hope you get a good uptake.

Re: RS6 Avant-anybody know it?

Looking at the MOT history, nothing too problematic, especially if you can DIY.
Probably worth looking at.
At that price you can't expect a perfect example.

Re: Coolant gone, ok to fire up the engine for 10-20 secs?

Craig, That's a very helpful post and well worth the time you spent researching it. As cars get older it's helpful to have the skill or at least access to someone who has at reasonable cost to keep them on the road plus a bit of patience. I've had my RS6 for 12 years and despite the occassional frus...

Re: Coolant gone, ok to fire up the engine for 10-20 secs?

Footlong, That's a shame, but I guess not a total surprise, especially as it's not been used for a while. Probably not economically viable, unless one is able to do much of the work oneself. Maybe get anotherone that has had much of the work done? Maybe this one (not mine) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm...

Re: Please identify these rusty pipes.....

Update: Concensus was the slightly narrower bore of the Pirtek fitting was not an issue, so my nephew refitted it. Unfortunatley the coulping was not compatible and would not tighten up, resulting in oil poring out. Ordered OEM equivalent from RS car parts (now back in stock) however their new flexi...
