Re: C5 Rs6 Cam Adjuster Options?
Hi Ron! (I’ve watched quite a few of your vids on YouTube btw - keep up the good work). The credible options are few and far between. - genuine Audi (some might still be available from heritage sites) - VAICO - FAI And then non branded Chinese ones. I’m currently swapping one of mine for a VAICO uni...

Re: Specialist garages
VAG Technik would probably do it too (in Brum).
I do it all myself so can’t vouch for any garages.

Just to keep you all updated - replacement on its way. Not sure about the old one yet. Hoping to do Camelot change around half term too.

Re: VAICO cam adjusters……hmmmm
You can see the thin gap between the solenoid and rhe adjuster near the top. It was on tight but obviously could leak out hot high pressure oil.

Re: VAICO cam adjusters……hmmmm
When I bought it. The solenoid didn’t look flush with the unit and when I unbolted you could see it’s not been assembled properly. Didn’t even put it near my car. Also worth noting that thankfully this is for the NS bank which fits at the front of the engine. Much easier to see. The OS one is at the...

VAICO cam adjusters……hmmmm
Hi all A couple of weeks back I had an error come up. Bank A cam adjuster solenoid short to ground etc… Car was driving fine so had a look into things. Believe it basically means the solenoid of the near side cam adjuster is stuck or has electrical issue. I think I chalked the signal at the plug and...

Re: USA-spec RS6 Avant 6-speed manual conversion
Welcome! Would love a manual conversion on mine but never mustered the courage to do it. Maybe one day I will start collecting parts and it will be inevitable. Have watched all of Joel Francisco vids on YouTube but he has moved on now to v10 turbo on older Audi. Has anyone else posted about Harp Att...

Re: Avant rear sunroof drain?
Right all sorted (I think). Sunroof does indeed have 2 rear drain pipes but contrary to the Bentley manual then don’t exit down by rhe rear bumper and don’t go down the D pillar. They actually go down inside the C pillar. You’ll only be able to see the very top as the rest is pretty much hidden. The...

Re: Avant rear sunroof drain?
Ah. But it’s not parked level. Slight incline to the rear (and I don’t like reversing into the drive as when I do the startup makes the garage door rattle)
I might have a look underneath tomorrow. Found a video of an an A4 and the owner says the hoses pop over very easily.
D’oh!

Re: Avant rear sunroof drain?
Wet patch is on the pillar by the boot lid. D pillar? This is what the Bentley manual shows. IMG_0725.jpeg Here’s a quick photo of the sunroof from an A6 C5. Min should be the same but is a solar one (ooo errr get me :bigblink: ) I’ve circled both the drains. Back one probably isn’t visible when loo...

Avant rear sunroof drain?
Evening all. Have a tiny damp patch rear pillar by the boot so I thought I’d investigate today whilst it’s sunny. Doesn’t seem to be coming out from the aerial on the roof so thought I would check the sunroof drains. Front ones are easy to find and run clear. Rear ones though…. Where the chuff are t...

I was gonna look for a pair to get powder coated. Seem to be rare as hens teeth though.

Re: Am I being daft. AC/blower query.
Edit - you might also need to unbolt where the pipe mounts to the bulkhead grommet too as there’s no flex in the pipe to move otherwise.

Re: Am I being daft. AC/blower query.
Cool. If you are thinking of doing a regas then doing the valve isn’t much more work. Remove coolant tank mounts (leave the hoses on though) and you will see the two black AC pipes routing underneath. IIRC only one of them has a join in it and gets slightly fatter. The valves sits inside the pipe. I...
