Re: something cool from Saki

The wheel was straight when I ran 11.77 on the strip but I my rear end went wild on that launch think I dumped at 5k. I found 4k just about perfect and worked for me everytime horses for courses and all that Get some stickier tires on there, maybe some drag radials, increase the launch and lower yo...

Re: Custom Re-map Recommendations

That's fine on a standard car Keith but reality is that most remappers base their program on an OEM car and their changes to the baseline tables will not take into account a customers modification of their car, i.e is it OEM;cat-back only; sports cats; gutted cats; CAI; deflapped, supercharger etc ...

Re: Custom Re-map Recommendations

A custom remap developed in hours while you wait will never be of better quality than a proper ECU recalibration developed over the course of weeks to months by accredited and experienced automotive engineers. Custom remaps typically just start with a base remap that is then "turned up" on the dyno ...

Re: something cool from Saki

The best launches will come after a clutch upgrade, even good for an otherwise stock RS4. The OEM clutch will slip above a 4k rpm dump, maybe even above 3500. The best 60' and 0-60 times from my testing, both stock with upgraded clutch and blown with upgraded clutch, came above 4500. I got my best 6...

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

I would have to disagree that the losses stay the same as the power increases.

Out of laziness and not wishing to retype a diatribe on the subject, here's a link that explains my position:

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

This is a good read about dyno testing from Dinan that answers a lot of questions asked in this thread.

Follow this link: http://www.dinancars.com/university/

Click on Dyno Testing and the Modern BMW Engine

You can pretty much take BMW out as this applies to almost all modern engines.

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

Before the super charger kit went on to the vehicle, the vehicle produced 402.79bhp and 336.73 ft-lb. Just so all the data is complete, my car dynoed the above figures of 402.79bhp and 336.73 ft-lb with a generic Revo stage 1 map, BMC air filter and Milltek non res valved catback. Previously it was...

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

It's funny how every supercharger thread on an RS4 forum anywhere in the world always ends up as a slanging match. Maybe the £ per hp figure is so high it just makes everyone think "is that good value?", or "I'd have expected more bhp for that many £?". Maybe it just shows how difficult it is to ge...

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

LOL very funny Mr APR employee, the best form of defense is to attack! Remember your words Keith whilst Awesome was at APR "always baffle you opponents with figures and bull$hit and attack them" just what you told us to do last year! lol I have not said that our RR figures are absolutely perfect ho...

Re: My APR Supercharger has arrived!

Keith: Thank you for your post explaining the difference between the rollers, we did mention earlier that it is always a dyno lottery. The only bit of that post that concerns me is " Apparently, Awesome's calculated transmission losses are used for a couple of different purposes. When its the compe...

I thought I would just pop in and offer our philosophy about dynamometer testing, how we rate our products and share some of my professional experience with dozens of different dynamometer makes and operator settings. To begin, I would like to present our published power information ...
