Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

Yeah, I am tempted as well. But will need to wait until I need to replace my discs though. I have no issue with the performance of the OEM pads and discs to be honest. But easy clean and low dust is selling it to me!!! The other option is to switch to ceramic front discs but that is a massive expens...

Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

Great, thanks i will try to contact them for pricing. Will be interesting to get pricing in from all the MX72 suppliers, i am expecting all uk suppliers will be more than Nengun. So clearly they are a lot more than DS2500, which is making the DS look attractive. Question will be if my curiosity of ...

Re: Rear upper arms. Anyone done them?

Probably worth dropping the fuel tank whilst you are in there and getting some underseal on the DRC lines that run over the top of the tank/subframe? My old ones were in a right state (along with the rest of the underside)!!!

Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

I tried some cheap Pagid pads once...... lasted one drive as they were dangerous! Stuck with OEM ever since. The backing plate pins scoring the disc issue has been resolved years ago. One option I was really tempted by was Endless MX72 pads. They get rave reviews from R35 GT-R owners but the price i...

Re: Car will not start

When one of my clutch switches failed, it would still start if you held the starter button down for longer. The revs can hang a bit as the car gets confused when you change gear but should still be drive-able. The later spec switches are more robust, not touched mine in years. I remember it taking a...

Re: DRC Shock Refurb

That is excellent news! I have a spare set of dampers which will allow the current ones to be rebuilt when required.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: DRC making rubbing sound / carbon clean

The traction control will give you the bogged down feeling when shifting gears aggressively, trying turning the ESP off to see if it still does it?

Agreed, squeaking is not normally a sign of a failing DRC system.

Re: Martin's RS4 B7 Avant Build

Front end finally finished with all the little snagging tasks completed. One of the brand new SS+ dampers decided to start leaking once the system was charged but luckily it was picked up before I collected the car !!! :audibash: New one was sourced and fitted with no issues the second time around. ...

Re: Reduce Milltek exhaust rasp

Yeah, the 400 cell pre-cats are really restrictive. The main 200 cell cats are not too bad though so people just remove the restrictive pre-cats on the original cat pipes. But like you say, no cats will give the best flow....... assuming you have a friendly MOT tester near you :-) I have heard the s...

Re: Reduce Milltek exhaust rasp

JHM do a full X-pipe res system and it sounds really lovely by all accounts. It is quite loud though, god knows why they also build a non-res version! It also has the benefit of being a 2.75" system which is proven to give decent gains over the stock/Milktek exhaust. https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/...

Re: DRC Fail after just 5k miles - Where do I stand with Audi?

I got the last SS+ damper for the drivers side front, apparently they don't sell very many as most people have switched to coilovers or passive dampers. I hope they will get more stock in from Germany (the dampers are made in Spain though). Looking at the dates on the packaging the shocks came with,...

Re: DRC Fail after just 5k miles - Where do I stand with Audi?

This is not good reading for someone who has just installed a brand new DRC system lol! Just to add, my car went off to have the brand new system charged and upon return, during final inspection the drivers side front shock was leaking  It had only done a handful of miles so 100% a defective d...

My issue has finally been fixed with a new plastic strip housing that the boot handle/number plate lights sit in!

Re: Flickering/weak connection to rear number plate and side light bulbs?

I had this issue on my Avant for a few years as well. New bulbs didn't fix it. Check for corrosion on the metal bulb contacts. In my case, I think there is a problem with the wiring loom, as since it came out the body shop (full panels off) the right number plate light, rear main light and boot lock...

Re: JamesBaby’s B7 RS4 Avant Daytona & Phantom

Nice work on the manifold, I have the 034 linkage arms and core plugs ready to be fitted so I might ask some questions if I get stuck!

Fridge upgrade looks good, I might get around to doing that as well once my A/C gets fixed/replaced.....
