Re: Sump.

I used mygermany.com Took some time but we got there in the end. Your relative is probably a safer bet. I changed my sump due to corrosion and a potential leak. Looks like it still has the leak but that will be fixed when the engine goes off for a rebuild. The issue I am finding is many places show ...

Re: Audi Tradition.

You just need the EORI number. Easy enough to obtain if you have a VAT registered business, it does not have to be one in the motor trade. I used an agent in Germany to order some parts on my behalf. Not the fastest, communications were at times extremely slow but we got there in the end. To be fair...

Re: Sump.

Audi Tradition have new sumps in stock. I managed to use a shipping agent in Germany to order some suspension parts from them on my behalf (gets around the UK bank account issue). The agent charges 10% handling but they are flexible with regard to declared customs values etc. I played it straight as...

Re: Car covers and trickle charges

Had a full respray on mine lately and was told in no uncertain terms absolutely do not ever put it under a cover. Wind moves it constantly at a low level and will over time develop swirlies and small scratches akin to a bad wash mitt. I was told put it inside or leave it. Be interested to hear if a...

Re: Rs4 in 2024 Parts availability

Just noticed your location, Audi Tradition will ship to Ireland with no issues, so you should be able to keep yours running for a good few years. Just search by the part number you need and loads of stuff is still available for the B7 RS4. I have basically given up using mine as a daily, it only com...

Re: Rs4 in 2024 Parts availability

I've been trying to get oil cooler lines recently and the 2 mounting brackets. I've managed to get one line. The other I've ordered 3 times, and each time they've come back and said can't get it discontinued. One time it was dispatched and sent to someone else. Now trying to source one from France....

Re: Light knocking from under car - drive backlash / play.

Audi don't sell the centre bearing on its own, it can only be purchased with the complete prop-shaft assembly..... which is certainly not cheap! When we did my underside restoration, we ordered up a 034 Motorsport bearing and refurbished the existing prop. Runs perfectly. https://www.034motorsport.c...

Re: B7 Saloon covered 217 miles from new!

It will still be on the original spec DRC shocks and these leaked like a sieve!

Agreed, the car will need a full restoration regardless of the mileage and keeping it OEM is becoming very difficult now.

Which is the main attraction of having a low mileage car like this.

Re: Oil Cooler and Hose Supplier

The Forge kit works but is far from ideal. The cooler is actually mounted in the upside down position. It is also mounted higher up than the OEM one so the oil pump has to work harder. Care needs to be taken when installing as they can produce a weird harmonic around 1800rpm. My one also rubbed agai...

Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

Yeah, I am tempted as well. But will need to wait until I need to replace my discs though. I have no issue with the performance of the OEM pads and discs to be honest. But easy clean and low dust is selling it to me!!! The other option is to switch to ceramic front discs but that is a massive expens...

Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

Great, thanks i will try to contact them for pricing. Will be interesting to get pricing in from all the MX72 suppliers, i am expecting all uk suppliers will be more than Nengun. So clearly they are a lot more than DS2500, which is making the DS look attractive. Question will be if my curiosity of ...

Re: Rear upper arms. Anyone done them?

Probably worth dropping the fuel tank whilst you are in there and getting some underseal on the DRC lines that run over the top of the tank/subframe? My old ones were in a right state (along with the rest of the underside)!!!

Re: Latest views on Brake Pad options

I tried some cheap Pagid pads once...... lasted one drive as they were dangerous! Stuck with OEM ever since. The backing plate pins scoring the disc issue has been resolved years ago. One option I was really tempted by was Endless MX72 pads. They get rave reviews from R35 GT-R owners but the price i...

Re: Car will not start

When one of my clutch switches failed, it would still start if you held the starter button down for longer. The revs can hang a bit as the car gets confused when you change gear but should still be drive-able. The later spec switches are more robust, not touched mine in years. I remember it taking a...
