Re: Idling issue

I had a similar issue a few years back.

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=109770&p=672269&hilit=Maf#p672269

In the end I had a full carbon clean but with hindsight it could have been a leak in the vacuum system.

I would replace the MAF sensor first as this is the cheapest option.

Re: Wanted: B7 RS4 Avant or Saloon

No mention of previous owners, service history etc. It does not look to bad in the pictures, is obviously being used by the seller going by the mileage increase and phone lead etc which could be seen as a good thing. It might be ok, or it could need loads of work. Buy on condition and service histor...

Re: What’s people’s thoughts on this ?

I think I’d get some of the interior re-trimmed.. I’d also put it in a paint shop to get it totally mint, rear pipes black and black rs4 badge, then off to MRC for a stage 2 Only trouble is selling my m2 it’s just such a awesome car.. but I have a baby on the way so need more space, plus I can cash...

Re: What’s people’s thoughts on this ?

It is a pretty unique car with a high spec. Colour is very marmite but I like it. I would want to change the wheels to titanium, along with the mirrors and put the rear lights back to standard though but each to their own. Ceramic brakes as well, it is a bargain! Resale is not an issue if you don't ...

Re: TPMS woes

The batteries last around 6-7 years I think. I coded my TPMS out so the warning was not displayed for a few years until I changed the sensors out during a wheel refurb. The 3 known issues with the TPMS system are flat batteries, aerial fault or the TPMS controller. Yes, once you enable the TPMS codi...

Re: Rattling noise

Does it have a Forge oil cooler? The early ones made a noise around 1800-2000rpm as there was slight movement in the mount kit.

Re: TPMS woes

I assume the TPMS was disabled because the wheel sensors had stopped working due to flat batteries? Have you fitted new wheel sensors yet? If you have new sensors, just re-enable the TPMS coding, follow the wheel change procedure as per the owners manual and job done. I tried looking at live data et...

Re: Pilot Sport 4 or 4s

I just put a set of 4S's on my one back in July. No issues with ride quality or noise levels, if anything, they are slightly quieter than the Supersports that were on it before. Plenty of grip and steering feel in both dry and wet conditions. No idea if it is a better all-rounder than the PS4 but I ...

Re: CAR JUST STOLEN

Last year 2 guys turned up on a motorbike and broke into my mates house whilst he was working away. Kicked the backdoor in, found the keys to his garage and stole his 6 month old Triumph motorbike. Other high value items left untouched (laptop, high end mountain bikes etc) so totally professional jo...

Re: cheapest way to source ceramic retrofit..!?

My concern would be that until you get some heat into the front brakes, the rears are doing most of the work. This would appear to be backed up by a forum member having to change rear discs and pads more frequently once they swapped to ceramic fronts.

Re: Streering problem RS4 B7

The noise is normal on full lock. My car has done it for the last 9 years.

Changing the fluid is probably a good idea depending on when it was last done, it can get pretty dark and manky.

Re: Laying up for a few months

Solar trickle chargers..... where are you based? I live in Scotland and my experience with them is they do not work very well. Would be fine in the South of Italy but from Sept to December there is not much sun. It was a decent size panel as well, took up hslf the dashboard. So probably better to di...

Re: Laying up for a few months

What bits do you need? I have a pair of brand new front DRC shocks and lightly used front hoses.

I would keep it on a trickle charger, coat the discs with a brake cleaner that contains light oil and leave the handbrake off.
