Re: Xenon headlight bulb issue

I would argue your 'specialist is not entirely correct at all. The original 'Audi' ballasts are made by Mitsubishi, and the part no. is common to other Audi's with Xenons across the range, not just RS models. As long as the part no. and suffix is the same, then it is suitable.

Re: Potential RS4 Owner Service Question

As long as each new owner who is 'scratching an itch' hasn't been ragging it around until the itch has been scratched...? :| ?

Re: Potential RS4 Owner Service Question

With the fantastic soundtrack of the V8 engine and exhaust, would you really notice any significant improvement with the B&O sound system? Probably not. I have a BOSE sound system in one of my other cars, and don't notice any real difference in that system above the standard system. Congratulations ...

Re: Potential RS4 Owner Service Question

I personally like the look of the one at Maundrells - looks very tidy, with quite a reasonable spec, and the seats look well cared for. Not a fan of the wheels, but again that's personal preference...

Re: Potential RS4 Owner Service Question

Blimey - 6 previous owners? That's going some...one of them must have been a bit of lardarse too looking at the drivers seat!! It does look well, but Prism Silver isn't one of the 'faster' colours.....I know its personal preference, but many like their RS4 colour to make a statement! Have yo...

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

Bit of a tale there - I bought one from Wigan Breakers on Ebay (I wouldn't recommend that company at all - they were very abrupt and not helpful). It was listed with the part no. suffix F, and it looked 'as new' - I got it for £85. I had previously messaged them asking if it was the one shown in the...

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

Well i for one am hoping that you come back and tell us it all works so we can get one. I just presumed all space savers were the same? Well, as Coolguy said, it all fits more or less fits like a glove. I bought a secondhand but unused spave saver, part no. 8K0601027F with offset ET29, with a unuse...

Re: Xenon headlight bulb issue

When my offside headlight failed last year, I swapped the bulb from one side to the other to check if the fault was the bulb or ballast. (If the fault changes side then the bulb is faulty; if the fault stays at the same side, then its likely to be the ballast). My fault stayed on the offside and the...

That's a good point CD. I'll speak to them and check (although I've already bought it!!).

Reading the B7 forum pages, it would appear the B7 also had a can of goo with a compressor.....

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

My only reasoning to fit a space saver rather than use the can of goo, is that firstly, it knackers the tyre up I believe and is a tyre fitters nightmare. The second reason is that not all puntures are 'slow'; the last one I had was after running over the hook of a wagon strap on the motorway which ...

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

Thanks for the response Andy. 'Coolguy' must know the answer as he has outlined the purchasing and fitting of a space saver in his RS4 on here, but he has not responded to my questions or a to a pm. I know everyone has busy lives, but surely a few minutes of anyones time if it helps a fellow owner.....

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

Is it me? I thought forums had members of like minded car owners / enthusiasts, who were willing to share helpful advice, but it seems like I have hit a stoney silent brick wall, both in this topic and via a pm. I appreciate it seems like this forum has gone quiet over the last year or so, but surel...

Re: Spare wheel and jacking up advise.

Do you have the part no for the space saver rim? Or any offset (ET numbers)? Do you know if it is applicable to any other models? Sorry for all the questions.....! I've now established the space saver offset no. and rim part no, but they are suffixed with B through to F, but I have not found any in...

Re: Tyres

I've got Michelin PS4s on my 'other' car, and yes, they are a good tyre. My Michelin PS2s were beginning to crack on the shoulder, which was one reason why I changed them. However, as I still have an Audi extended warranty which I have continued since the 5 year warranty ended, I'd rather fit an RO1...
