Re: DRIVE SHAFT ISSUE I THINK ?

I had this on mine, happened completely out of the blue one evening. Felt like it was driving fine, changed down to go uphill and just had no drive. Clutch felt fine, and would go into all gears but no drive at all. Turned out that the splines on one of the driveshafts had failed. Cost circa £650 ii...

Re: Transmission system

Hi Foweybuoy, sorry to slightly hijack the thread but is yours the black avant I sometimes see parked up in Fowey (going by your username and putting two and two together)?

Re: Brake judder

As Cov said, discs do not warp. This is a myth, one I even saw recently perpetuated in EVO mag sad to say. Brake judder is actually caused by one of two things, or a combination of both. One is the interface between the disc and the hub not being totally flush and clean and hence the disc not runnin...

Re: Bonnet gap!!

I think you need to slacken off the bolts holding the front bumper on first before turning the adjusters, otherwise they break. Yeah I'm sure there's a 'how to' on here somewhere. There is a certain amount of adjustment using the two adjusters but I found with mine I also had to slacken off the ret...

Re: B7 RS4 - Whats considered good history?

Just to weigh into the cc debate, I've just replaced my 103,000 mile B7 with a low mileage 2013 E92 M3. I did 63,000 miles in the B7 and never had it carbon cleaned, and I have no evidence to suggest the previous owner had it done either. Right up to the day I said goodbye to it, I would say it pull...

Re: Auf wiedersehen

How are you liking the M3? I must say I have been tempted to the dark side from time to time. I miss the dynamics of a well balanced RWD - the RS4 is incredible for what it is, but it’s not super playful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi Alex Not done enough miles in it yet to make a vaild com...

Auf wiedersehen

Well, after 8 years and 63,000 miles, my beloved B7 has gone off to pastures new. Right up until the end I loved every second in that car and I rather suspect it might be the best car I'll ever own. But I just felt it was a ticking financial timebomb and time for a change. I've replaced it with some...

I've gone from PSS to PS4. Can't honestly notice much difference.

Been with several different ones over the last 7 years but currently with LV. Costing me about 200 quid.

Re: Car sits lower on one corner

Thanks for all the replies chaps, I'll investigate further. As I said though, there were no issues reported at the MOT and the isue has been going on since long before then. Very odd...FWIW I've been measuring the difference at the gap between the front splitter and the ground, level with the fog lo...

Re: Car sits lower on one corner

Are you on standard DRC? Unless you are corner weighted all cars vary on corner heights. Yes Cov, on std Gen 2 DRC. I'm aware that corners heights will vary it's just that mine seems to have got worse recently to the point where the car has a quite visible slant down and to the left when looking at...

Car sits lower on one corner

As above. For some time now my car has sat lower on the front drivers side. Its was only about 4-5mm and drove fine and didn't bother me. But I thought recently it had got worse, and the tape measure confirms it is now about 10mm (ish). Still drives fine and at last months MOT had no advisories. It ...

Re: Has anyone had their windscreen replaced

As others have alluded to, if you have auto wipers you need to get an OEM screen. On non-OEM versions the tint at the top is slightly different and it throws the auto wipers out of whack. At some point in its life mine's had a pattern screen fitted and as a result the auto wiper function is so <beep...

Re: Exhaust flaps

Thanks for replies so far. A few applications of WD40 has at least got them moving but still they need a lot of force to move (ie a long tool tapped with a rubber mallet). Another thread on here mentioned brake cleaner might possibly be a better solution - any thoughts?

Exhaust flaps

Hi all The car has been sitting for a while and now the exhaust flaps are not opening in sport mode. Indeed they are closed when the engine is off meaning hopefully they are just stuck. I have no other symptoms of vacuum issues. But my question is, how freely do they move when not seized? Should you...
