Re: R8 Plus battery confusion

Thanks. I need the highest capacity, lowest self-discharge battery that I can fit, as the car doesn’t get used often, and is in a garage without power (or even daylight), so I can’t leave it on charge. I’ve had to jump start it a couple of times recently and want to give myself the best chance of ha...

Re: R8 Plus battery confusion

Thanks. I think that you’re right, that he just didn’t have the time. I’d got prior agreement that they were fine to fit the battery I supplied, and they’d done it previously on my last R8. I’ll write to the general manager, and ask that they do it without charging me extra, as the only reason I wen...

R8 Plus battery confusion

Evening all. I bought a new AGM battery for my recently acquired 2013 R8 Plus, and asked Audi to fit it while they were carrying out a service. I bought size “019” after checking on a couple of different shops’ websites via the model name and reg number. I’ve just collected the car and the new batte...

Re: R8 v10 plus

Evening all. On my way home from picking up my sensible family car yesterday I popped in to try out a white 2014 R10 Plus, at Premier GT near Horsham. It was enough different to my V8 that I decided to switch, despite telling myself that the old was was to be kept for life. 2013 62 Reg, 17k miles, a...

This is spookily familiar. Which dealer did you take it to? Chingford. It does seem very strange that out of all the mikes it;s done, it was during the 2-3 miles of their rooad test that they went over the limit. I shold maybe have pressed them on the issue, but I didn't realise whiile in the deale...

Re: Brake advice needed

Eh? How can the sensor wire (which are near the middle of the pad) be triggered by the lip outside the swept area? I don't know. I was told that the pads have plenty of life left, but that there's a sensor that measures distance at the top of the pad, and that this was being trigggered by the lip. ...

Brake advice needed

While in having the damppers replaced recently the brake warning light came on. I was told that although the pads had plenty of life left in them, the sensoor was being triggered by the lip that was developing on the brake discs outside the swept area. What would be the normal response to this? Is i...

Re: I know it's a not uncommon question, but DRC failure...

The only problem is that it's come back with the brake warning light on. I'm surprised that it happened in the, (what, three mile?) test drive, but why ever it happened, it's happened. New front pads and discs is £1,300, which is annoying at 18k miles (never been on track), especially as the pads ar...

It went in t.o Chingford in the week, and is having new dampers fitted. Nothing else needed doing, apparently. I'll pick it up tomorrow, and see how it drives.

Re: I know it's a not uncommon question, but DRC failure...

Thanks, but Camberley is probably going to be too far away. It's a good hour and a half drive there on a Saturday, two hours back home, and the same again at the other end. I doubt that they'd happily give me a loan car for a week (or possibly longer if they need to order the parts) to avoid the int...

Someone had recommended Chingfoord Audi on here yesterday, but it's disappeared now. Any reason not to go there?

Re: I know it's a not uncommon question, but DRC failure...

I'm not sure how easy it'll be to check that they are fitting the latest dampers, or are correctly pressurising the system, and so on. I think that you have to be quite lucky with a mechanic to get one who'll go into details with you, especially when you are not contributing to the costs of the work...

Re: I know it's a not uncommon question, but DRC failure...

Thanks, I'll give Chingford a call. I bought the car from Bexley (after being treated like crap at my local branch, Docklands) and had it serviced there (after being treated like crap at Docklands), but am very happy to try somewhere else.

I know it's a not uncommon question, but DRC failure...

I've done a forum search, but haven't really found what I was looking for. I know that someone will come up with an obvious search term that I overlooked, but until then, can someone please help me with the below? I've noticed a bit of a "clunk" over bumps for a few months and when braking very hard...

Where did you try? Tyremen in Hull were cheapest at £167 per tyre including home delivery and could get stock delivered to you in 2-3 working days. I got my last two from them the week before last and that was from new supplier stock. I am getting them supplied and fitted at £176 each at Elite Tyre...
