Re: Cayman GTS

It wasn't, no, but actually the value wasn't bad at all compared to what Porsche charges for N/A horsepowerz... got a couple grand for my old engine too which will live on in a German race car.

Certainly less expensive than swapping to a 718 GT4 and my car is now quite a bit faster than those.

Re: Cayman GTS

Another installment of the "I fell of the slippery slope" series. I've solved the one thing that my Cayman always lacked. Power. Took it to Ehresmann in Germany who took out the 3.4 and fitted a 3.8 engine with the "X51" powerkit (the one that was used in the 991.1 GTS) The result was 444 PS at 7500...

Re: Bit Coins

Plenty of people were "right" for a while as they made fun of the bagholders who bought at 30, 266 or 1250 USD. The argument can only be settled after years, not months.

FWIW I'm mostly in cash now waiting for it to drop further but have a small BTC and STR holding just to hedge my bets.

Re: Nurburgring lap - with an appropriate car for once (981 GTS)

Used to go pretty frequently 10 years ago when I lived 2 hours away. Now that it takes me 3 days to get my car over there it's a once a year kinda thing at best. I took 5 years off at one point. Reasonable experience but not thousands of laps. Somewhere between 150 and 200 probably.

Re: Nurburgring lap - with an appropriate car for once (981 GTS)

Ps how on earth can it blow 130db driveby!?!? Fit catless exhaust manifolds...that's about it. PSE with the valves open sounds almost straight through. Literally painful to your ears IRL from the outside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIEZNR6JKXU Is it stock (apart from the exhaust)? You’re frien...

Nurburgring lap - with an appropriate car for once (981 GTS)

After lapping a lot in a Volvo and an Audi in days gone by, I finally did it in something a bit more made for the job. Quite unstable at the limit thouhg, could use a 911's rear suspension or a big wing maybe. P4q-ImhR6FY If it seems a little quiet, my car fell foul of the 130 dB pass-by noise limit...

Well, it's been 6 months since this thread started....

what happened to the muppets crowing about buying this <beep>? :(

Here's how bitcoin threads on forums work:

Price goes up: muppets.

Price goes down: different muppets.

Price goes up again: more muppets.

Re: track car build

I highly doubt 1100 is achievable tho... drivetrain and engine is around 700kg. So that’s 400 for the rest give or take.. Correct, shooting for 1400 would already be a fairly strong goal. 1100 not going to happen ever, not even when you fill the car with helium balloons. That tubing for the cage is...

Re: Shall I take my RS4 to the Alps

As said, I don't care :rocker: There's nothing cool or commendable about driving with your insurance effectively invalidated, grow up. Even if some other moron drives into you, chances are very high you would be found liable anyway. It's all fun while you remain lucky, when it runs out for someone ...

Sounds like a vacuum leak either related to the work they did on the air pump or (more likely as it's a classic mistake) they didn't put the airbox back on properly.

Re: Bit Coins

I take it you weren’t a seller when RSI got ridiculously high though? Actually I can count on one hand the days that I went to bed holding BTC over the past 12 months. Too risky for me. This means I gained much less than I could have but relatively risk free. It's all play money anyway, I never put...

Re: Bit Coins

Surprised this is quiet Was expecting to find one side or other jumping up n down !!! Too busy looking at it lol. Pretty epic so far. More like the 2 to 266 than 2013. If you're actively trading it's a great opportunity. If you're a holder (hodler sorry) then just go back into your cave for a while...

JHM exhaust vids

Only took a couple of years, but I have to say hearing it from the outside almost makes it worth the drone on the inside.

In Holland, before driving it back to Moscow.

Back home, in fairly typical winter conditions.

Re: Bit Coins

There is no difference to this than regular stocks and shares. Everything goes up, everything goes down. Predict what will and what won't and you can make a hell of a lot of money. Well it is a little different, in that you're dealing with a largely unregulated asset, cowboy exchanges etc. The size...
