Re: CD Changer Problems

Hi mate, I've picked up your PM and replied. I have vague memories of being able to switch between the iPod dock and the CD Changer using the head unit, but once I got the kit fitted (paid for a car-audio place to do it professionally, rather than doing it myself) I never used the CD Changer afterwa...

Looks like an error to do with the self-levelling headlights to me.

Re: Mugello Avant joins the club - Update

Seems all 'standard-fare' for RS 6 ownership. My way of dealing with all of this over the 6-ish years I owned one was to have a budget of £1k in your head for each item that needs attention, then you won't be too far off. It'll be a pleasant surprise if something comes in under £1k. (I did none of m...

Re: Water in rear passenger footwell, RS6 C5

I managed to wiggle my girly hand underneath the coolant bottle to give the drain hole a poke with a finger without needing to remove anything.

I checked my drainage holes whenever I washed the car, which was pretty regularly.

Re: External temperature sensor

I found it to be relatively accurate if you are moving at a decent speed so you get fresh air flowing over the sensor. Once you hit traffic, it just seems to pick up heat from the engine bay. Apart from giving a jibberish reading, I didn't notice this ever caused any problems in my old RS 6. Is the ...

Re: Water in rear passenger footwell, RS6 C5

Parked it on a slope?
Bulkhead drain-hole blocked, water dribbling through pollen filter housing into front footwell and flowing through to rear perhaps?

Not many other places water can get through to the rear of a saloon - door/window seals all OK?

Now sold.

New owner has an awesome European trip planned. Very jealous.

A sad day for me but it is going to a good home.

Re: Wonky speedo and now a wonky fuel gauge?

If the scuttle is full of leaves, check the passenger carpet for dampness. If water couldn't drain, it can leak into the cabin through the pollen filter. If it gets in, there are some electrickery jiggery pokery important boxes on the passenger floor. If these get wet, they can cause all sorts of mi...

For Sale - RS6 (C5) Avant

After almost 6 years of ownership it's time to change the RS 6. Asking £10,750 for: 2003 RS 6 Avant. Missano Red with Ivory Leather and Carbon Fibre Trim. I've tried to be very honest and accurate in the below, detailing every minor imperfection so you have a good idea of what to expect. This has be...

Re: It had to happen

I had a new radiator recently and I think I paid something around £800 for the part too. For that and a cam-belt change, £2k seems pretty reasonable as long as you can trust them to do a good job. The specialists mentioned already will probably be able to spot any other 'while we are there' jobs... ...
