Re: Potential purchase dilemma
The tyres thing is a bit like in-flight meals IMHO. If you get cheap, boiled pap in a plastic tray with a cardboard fork you have to wonder at the rigour and investment on engine maintenance.

Re: Whenever I login from a Mac, 2 files get downloaded, any
Still not sure what the files are but it you do a 'Get Info' from finder and read down to the 'Where from:' entry they appear to be YouTube links to news items featured on the RS246 home page. For example m8MuJEEuDjY (which I now have about 40 iterations of) contains a link to the 'Tear Drop – The A...

Re: WANTED Phatbox cable 000-051-592-A
Sorry, I'm afraid not. To stand any chance of selling I'd need to let the cable go with the unit. Unless someone else is looking for a Phatbox and Cartridge alone?wrightbr wrote:Thanks for the reply . Would you sell the cable separate ? I have a phatnoise box with everything apart from the cable :0(

I have an entire Phatbox unit with B5 cable and cartridge I could do you for £50 + postage. The unit has been modified to fit inside the B5 Avant media cubby. See http://forum.phathack.com/index.php/top ... l#msg15819

Re: Tesco Driver !!!!!
Had similar happen to me twice. Ages ago I stopped outside an off licence (when such things existed) in a bright yellow Escort to get ciggies, wife still in passenger seat. While paying I and the shop assistant see my car, handbrake on and in gear, move forward six or seven feet. Next thing a woman ...

Re: Speeding
Similar happened to my colleague when he sold an AMD tuned S3 to a dealer in Brum. As the dealer was about 150 miles away they sent a delivery driver to collect it. A few days later colleague gets a NIP for 78 in a 30. Turned out it was the youth they sent to collect the car giving it the berries a ...

If they do catch up with the driver 110mph in a 30mph zone qualifies for prison, a criminal record and headlines in the red tops I would have thought.

I have a disused Phatbox player, modified to fit the Avant's media cubby, plus cable and USB cradle. Would do the lot for £50 + postage.

Re: speed camera detectors
This was quite a good read http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/index.htm Not impressed with the 'Target Blu Eye' device advertised at the top of the page. No doubt it works but too much marketing hyperbole for my liking. And anyway the UK Airwave emergency services radio network is currently up for renew...

Re: speed camera detectors
As others have observed it aint the device that matters it's the camera location database it uses that's critical. Personally I use and would recommend anything that uses the pocketgpsworld.com database which is pretty much any make of SatNav, iOS devices etc.

We used LittleKnocks in Wokingham a few years ago for a front wing repair and repaint on an Impreza and they did a very competent job. They quoted on a couple of emailed photos too.

Re: Hello from Lincolnshire
Welcome to the forum. We have both Impreza Turbo 5-door (old type) and B5 RS4 Avant. Impreza + 2 Labradors = contented dogs & 28MPG. RS4 + 2 Labradors = happy dogs & 23MPG & room for our stuff too. And I know which of the two I'd rely on to get anywhere, in any conditions, without worrying about war...
