Re: Fogs as DRLs

I've used my HID fogs as DRL's from day one. A very simple Mod which I believe to be a great safety feature. It greatly improves your visibility to other drivers. In other words you are much more readily seen at a greater distance and will not go unnoticed, which to me greatly reduces the chance of ...

Re: VCDS-Vagcom and a C5 RS6

Save your money and get the Real thing. Its worth its weight in gold. It works on any VAG car and you get the full support of ROSS-TECH. With the cheap cables you get what you pay for, meaning very limited capabilities and no support..................

Re: Engine cutout won't restart

[ Hope not, was only changed 8K ago [/quote] Since it was changed only 8K ago, then the Cam belt shouldn't be an issue, but you never know. Hope it turns out to be something simple such as a fuel pump or an ECU. To really find out you will have to VAG it with a Ross Tech and see ...

Re: Engine cutout won't restart

Tonight on my way home from work My RS6 cutout & won't restart  Engine turns over - probably a bit faster than normal but just will not start - after a while of cranking Engine oil level warning comes up. Was thinking fuel related - pump / relay maybe as turning faster than normal. Don't like...

Re: Fog lights

Do the US RS6 have rear foglights? What's the law say about them there? I really don't know what the Law is governing the use of Fog lights over here is. But I do remember being told to turn off my fogs by a law enforcement official years ago. So I guess there is some kind of law restricting its us...

Re: Fog lights

I wish they would ban fog lights. Especially the rear ones. Or at least educate people on when to use them, and more importantly when not to. They are worse than useless, 99.9% of the time. I find them to be very Effective DRL's (Daytime Running lights). I have fitted mine with 35W 6000K H7's. Sinc...

Re: Yank looking for Euro headlights

Our lights don't swing. They do move up and down based in suspension movement. The Headlights for cars that Drive on the Left hand side of the Road project more light optically to the left of the road to prevent blinding oncoming drivers and to more thoroughly illuminate the Shoulder of the Road. T...

Re: Yank looking for Euro headlights

4vever don't forget that Headlights purchased in the UK are for Right Hand Drive cars (They drive on the Left over there), and the Lights swing the Beam accordingly. I do believe that getting Headlights for Left Hand Drive cars would be quite difficult in Britain. A source in Germany would be better...

Re: Aftermarket Stereo people, Kenwood release dual-DIN DAB

Had 2 top of the line Excelleron kenwoods over hear in the States. Both of them were Garbage (Rubbish). The software interfaces were bad and Extremely slow to respond to any input. Software updates were almost nonexistant. I would never buy another Kenwood again and my advice is to stay away, Buy an...

Re: pre-cats

Another added bonus that I don't think anyone mention when going Catless is improved fuel economy. I went from about 250-270 miles per tank full to well over 300 miles per tank full of combined City and Motorway driving. So in addition to more power and better throttle response ( faster Turbo spool ...
