Last RS2

Hi all Thought this might interest a few of you! The last Audi RS2 from the factory. A bit strange that the country code is GBR but it seems to be equipped for mainland Europe being LHD. Vehicle data Vehicle Data Make: A Fahrzeugidentnr. WACZZZ8CZTZ000521 Country Code: GBR Model Year: 1996 Descripti...

Re: 996 turbo calipers

Hi Thanks Tom, I actually already have the 996 turbo calipers and the boxster S for the rears. Fitting is a bit more complicated than I first thought. I bought the carriers from VRS and genuine correct bolts from design 911 and set about fitting them. The bolts need modifying at the rear for both ca...

996 turbo calipers

Hi all, Just a little question which has probably been answered already. I am upgrading from the stock brakes to the monoblock versions. For the fronts I already have the 993 big reds and would like to know if the 996 turbo calipers are a straight fitment to the brackets used for the 993 turbo and i...

Re: Oil Pressure Switch and Handbrake shoes.

Thanks I'll take a look. I've actually adjusted them and they're pretty good now. The handbrake holds on all but the steepest of slopes. I'll see how long that lasts. In fact the adjustment is easy enough if you know where to line up the hole in the disc housing. I have found that you need the pads ...

Oil Pressure Switch and Handbrake shoes.

Hi all, Just finished changing the oil pressure swith which was leaking quite a lot of oil through its plastic part. It is actually possible to change with a socket set and thin arms - (cost 13 euros from Audi)!! Didn't have to take anything else apart except the dipstick tube. Now working fine and ...

Re: AC Condenser & Pipe(s) Q

Hi Tom, Yes I've done mine about 2 months back. Decided to go the main dealer way. Got it done with the annual service at the same time for a total of 1000 euros, so probably not too bad. It all works fine. Just having more trouble with the handbrake again - it works for so long after an overhall th...

Hi All Happy New Year! I live in the French Alps and drive from 1250 m altitude to 1850m every day (and down again in the evening!) so obviously snow tyres are essential. It's the quality of the rubber that makes the most difference and that depends upon the age of the tyre. A perfect, nearly new, t...

Wheel Offsets

Hi all,

Found this very useful. There's probably already been a few threads on this but just in case this calculator is clear and easy to use.

Thanks Tom

I'll probably do the same. Just a bit worried that the joints may dry out with no fluid and end up having to change more things in the Spring.
I'll let you know but I'm in two minds whether to get a genuine part or a copy part.

Hi Darkhorse
How did you get on with your condenser. The time has come to change mine as I'm afraid the joints will dry out if I leave it too long empty.

Thanks

I was thinking the same! Mine's done 238000kms and no trace of new shocks. Can they last that long?

I've been a bit more fortunate. I live in France and my main dealer does a good job. They asign the same man to the job every tiime who has worked on RS2's since they came out - even if it's a simple service. So, for the moment I can't complain!! :D

Hi I use the Porsche 944 turbo/ 928 S4 rear disc. The last ones I put on were a crossed drilled disc made by Sebring. I'm very happy with them as they haven't rusted at all, not even on the hub part. I find that the none original discs tend to rust quicker, but not in this case, which is important e...
