Re: Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

Hi Nick, No such thing as a troll post  Size The projection unit is comfortably within 80 x 50 x 20 mm. Looks big on an MX5; disappears on full size cars. There's a template here for the guys who want to flush-install it on the dash: http://www.speedview.co/forum/attachment.php?thumbnail=36 ...

Re: Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

Cheers Dave, I may well offer the screen as an 'optional extra' on the next one. Probably won't fit easily with the more modern heavily-raked windscreens, but if its an option folks can at least have an experiment. :-) So long as its a proper DSG with clutches, not an old-school slushbox with a torq...

Re: Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

What does the future hold? As mentioned above, I'm not aggressively targeting the top end of the market with this first product - installation is a little too involved for most owners and to a large extent it isn't expensive and flash enough to match the car - but expect a handful of folks to be in...

Re: Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

Afternoon Dave, Maximo, Criticism is very much encouraged - I don't expect to sell many of these first products into the top-end market, but am very much interested in what you'd like to see in future products. I'll start with the easy answers, get onto some more interesting ones, then what t...

Re: Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

Evening all! Thanks for the welcome (nice plate on the + 8) ) and the feedback; I've been deliberately hands-off to see what your thoughts were first :) The SpeedView digits are 15 mm high. I chose this size because its: - big enough to be easy to read - small enough to tuck out the way/not to use t...

Re: Hello from Marko@SpeedView (no Audi content sorry)

Thanks Phil! I've added a post with a little information in it to the Modifications forum - we'll see what folks think and whether anybody fancies being a test pilot. :) If there's anything you need for your guy to fit it you've got my number. Did I mention the 'silhouette' projection films whilst y...

Head up Display (SpeedView) and Audi Instruments

Good evening ladies and gents, I'm Marko and I've recently started a company to sell aftermarket Head up Displays. (a gadget that projects speed onto your windscreen) Here’s a quick video and a couple of photographs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCP7fzrHULw http://www.speedview.co/wordpress/wp-con...

Hello from Marko@SpeedView (no Audi content sorry)

Evening all! I'm Marko and I've recently started a company called SpeedView Displays. I sell a small head-up display that projects speed onto your windscreen and hope to create some “how to” guides for fitting it each to model with the forum’s help. I thought that I’d say hello first though! :bigwav...

Re: Please recommend jet wash and jack

I'd get the '3 ton' Arcan jack (same brand as the Costco one) as they have a lower minimum height, a higher maximum height, and a wider footprint. Plenty on fleabay, usual price is about 90 notes delivered after they've been on offer at Costco for 80. Worth the extra. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arcan...

Re: Turbo boost problem from a newbie

The reason for a ECU cutoff because the waste gate not opening and pressure increase to a level too high THIS. Sounds like you're overboosting there and running out of fuel. This is not good - it'll detonate and break/melt things. Who fitted the replacement turbo? What was disturbed when it was rep...
