That makes a lot of sense. A new battery isn't too bad an outcome, better than a new alternator or some other part of the charging circuit.

More great info, thanks. :thumb:

Interesting, I thought lead acid cells were charged with a constant voltage. Always good to learn something new :).

Thanks,

If you start the car after 2 days and it's OK but it wont start after 9 days, in those 7 days the alternator hasn't had any influence anyway. I thought that, but that battery wouldn't be charging fully at 13.8 V, not sure that it would make enough difference though (9 days compared to 5 weeks that ...

Alternator, Low output voltage ?

Hi Guys/Gals, Car was a little slow to turn over after been stood for 8-9 days without use and has a yellow battery warning light on the dash, I thought that I needed a new battery. Went to Halfords, and they tested the battery and they said it was ok. They then tested the battery voltage with the c...

Have a look here for part numbers http://audiforum.us/part-numbers/7638-audi-navigation-dvd-part-numbers.html Note: These are DVDs not CDs, CDs are for one of the older systems. I thought the 919 parts are the one supplied with the car 8P0 919 884 AN and the 060 parts are the updates that you can bu...

Thanks for the info, sounds like it is worth getting a new spring and at the very least having my local garage replace it rather than Audi. Might even have a look at doing it myself.

How the hell did the spring break?..pot hole?? Not sure, probably a pot hole that finally finished it off. Noticed a metallic rattle from that corner. Thought it was the tool kit to start with, but had the wheels off for cleaning and noticed a 2-3 inch piece of spring sat inside the rest of the spr...

Do you need to repressurise the DRC when just changing a rear spring ?

Can't you "just" take the old sping out and put a new one in without touching the shock ?

Mini USB charger car adaptor (cigarette lighter socket)

Bought one of these. Fits nicely in the cigarette lighter socket, and can still close it whilst plugged in (as long at you remove the cable ) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-CHARGER-CABLE-MINI-CAR-ADAPTOR-BLACKBERRY-PEARL-/350352027959?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccesories_MobilePhon...

Broken rear spring replacement, some questions.

I've got a broken near side rear spring, lost of couple of inches from the lower end. This one is been replaced under warranty by Audi but I am wondering if I should change the far side one too ? 08/2007 RS4 with 33K miles. Normal SS. How much would a spring cost, and where is the best place to get ...
