Hey guys. It's been a long time since I posted on here, having had my search for a fun car taken away by the arrival of our daughter and other life changes. I've recently been looking for a replacement estate of some kind, and keep coming back to the thought of a b5 S4. I've spotted, for a few weeks...

She's used to it. I've had daily driver projects for years, and the MK2 Golf project for over 12 months......and it was her that told me not to sell it when I lost my job at the start of last year. She knows cars are where I'm at and has to deal with it!

yes mate, i'm told cam chain (or belt, which ever it has) has been done, along with the waterpump.

Its also fairly recently had discs and pads, presuming just front, but could be all round.

I know they don't do the MK1 S3 as a 4 door, the only aim behind getting one of these would be the chance of more power and a couple of grand in the bank. The practicality would have to be in the 3 series then! Fuel costs are not really any bother to me, I've run and still have VW VR6's, so am used ...

So......for my situation, would you guys recommend staying with the 4-pot turbos, and going for an S3 instead?
