Re: DIS: Faulty Dynamic Headlight Range - Help needed

Hi all long time no speak. Been mostly on Porsche forums as I have not been using the S4 much recently. But anyway, I am getting the light on the display showing the dynamic headlight are not working. I removed the headlights to get the front bumper painted to get rid of a couple of stone chips but ...

S4 B6 4.2 STARTER MOTOR maybe B7 and RS4.

For sale; a refurbished Valeo starter motor bought but never fitted. The prices I was quoted for one of these was over £170. I just need to get some money back on this from what i spent so its up for £120. It is still in it box. I'm not sure if it will fit the B7 S4 or the RS4 4.2. I will edit with ...

Could be a CV joint.

I have had this full lock noise a couple of times on other cars and it turned out to be the joint on its last legs.

It's not just VAG groupe that do this, for special order non stock items, ie coming from Germany, I have heard most dealers charge a re stocking fee.

I went to the car last night and my key remote worked again. I had not got around to trying the fix yet. I have had the key in the ignition for about 15 min over the weekend and it still make me wonder if they do charge up. I have heard of this before but I wasn't sure if Audi's do it or not. The ba...

Key remote not working.

I have not been driving the S4 for a couple of months since I bought another car. I have kept the battery trickle charged but I have found the keys don't work on the remote. I have to put the key in the door to open. I was going to change the batteries in the keys but when I took the key apart notic...

Unless you have access to a lot of various sized and length spanners and sockets I would not attempt doing this job. Luckily I have an extensive range of tools. It took me about 3.5 hours to get it done. It took about an hour of that to get the old one out and new one back in due to there being very...

I was expecting it to be tight for space as everything is in this engine bay. I did my engine mount last year and that took about an hour. So I hope a couple of hours for the starter should see it done. I will be getting the car up on axle stands, I have got a 4X4 trolly jack so I can get some good ...

Swapping Starter Motor over this weekend. Any tips?

My Starter has been playing up most of the Winter and this weekend I am finally going to replace with a new one.

Does anyone have any tips of the quickest way or any problems I might come across whilst changing it.

I think it is located on the near side of the engine but I am not 100% sure.

If you set it to 70 it will stay at 70, uphill will add more power and downhill will reduce power. So you will always do what you set it at. Unless you touch the brakes or accelerator. As I am constantly wanting everyone in the world to get out my way. I am always dropping down a few MPH b...

They most probably spotted the UK plates and had a look, although there are some crap cars over there unless you get to the Med. Its not the Gendarme you need to worry about, its the Douane with their rubber gloves. And the Gendarme have ALL had a sense of humour bypass. Beware of this. I have been ...

It could of been WR, it was dirty.

I cleaned the 911 twice over the weekend and it covered in salt again already.

I'm not working that way this week but depending what I am driving I might see you in the area again. That's my main patch on the M1.

I had an engine mount go in the summer and that gave no vibration at all but it was only the electronics gone. The reactive mount had stopped reacting basic-ley.
I would be surprised if the rubber was gone @ 64,000. They are a big lump of rubber and metal.
