Re: Are my DRC shocks dying?
UPDATE : I recently collected my car from the dealer, so thought I would update this thread. Upon checking my DRC, it was determined that both front shocks were leaking. The near side shock required replacement, while the off side was weeping, but was outside Audi's tolerances for replacement. Afte...

We may well have a winner already!toyneg wrote:I've had 30.5
29 MPG has been my best over an A11/M11 airport run.
On a side, I've been pleasantly surprised by mid-20s whenever I've driven on the infamous 3 and 5 Autobahns in Germany, despite regular triple figure speeds.

Re: Dream B7
I considered buying that very car when it came up for sale a couple of years ago. I actually asked about it on here, but it sold before I decided. No regrets keeping mine, as can pile on the miles without much fear of great depreciation. At the time, this car had about 5k miles less and was priced a...

Re: Are my DRC shocks dying?
Thanks for all the replies, and apologies I haven't yet replied here. I have my car booked in for a service and Audi warranted corrosion repair in a couple of weeks when they will also perform a pressure test as well as thoroughly check all the suspension. I've now noticed some dampness around the t...

Are my DRC shocks dying?
Good afternoon everyone. I've noticed my car has a slight knock from what sounds like the off side rear suspension. It only seems noticeable on a cold start for the first few miles, then it disappears. The rear also seems to be a tad lower than it has been. It's not too evident, I've just noted that...

Re: How many miles
I purchased my July '06 car at the end of January 2009 with 6,300 miles on the clock.
As of last week, the car has just shy of 80k miles

Re: Look at the millage on that!
Very impressive mileage, indeed! I hope it is still the original engine and gearbox - that would be a great advert for Audi and quattro GmbH. I guess Ceramic brake replacements became a little too painfully frequent - it appears to have the calipers but with steel discs. It would be interesting to r...

Re: R8 v10 plus
Unfortunately an Ibis white manual is so rare it doesn't actually exist. I contacted Audi UK and they supplied me with a colour split of the 18 UK manual Pluses which exist. Only 3 were customer cars, the rest ordered for demo or stock purposes. If you're after white car, and none of the other colou...

Sadly I don't yet own an R8.
Just hoping to answer a couple of queries at my early stage of hunting.

Re: V10 Plus - Wheel swap & Matte grey bumper parts
Thanks for the replies, guys, and the R8 section welcome :) I've seen those facelift twin spokes, but much prefer the original V8 design - thinner spokes and circular centre caps make it appear a cleaner look to me. Maybe I'm just weird   I hadn't considered a straight swap with other own...

V10 Plus - Wheel swap & Matte grey bumper parts
Morning all. My first thread in this neck of the rs246 woods, so please be gentle :P After driving one 18 months ago, I have been tentatively looking at the V10 Plus as an enjoyable place to go after my RS4. I like the cars, but I am not a fan of the matte grey finish on front bumper air intakes, fr...

Re: front brake pads
theres been loads of posts on here about pads.like whats been said the oem are just as good as anything else, but I think the majority went with yellow stuff, and like mike said yes sensors come with them. You'll melt the OEM pads quicksmart if you track the car at all. Or if you have a spirited driv...

Re: V8 R8 vs RS4
I can confirm from experience - on a closed circuit *cough* (sorry, I have a cold) - that a stock RS4 is a dead match for an early V8 R8 with an approximate 30mph rolling start. 2 up in the R8, 4 up in the RS4. No idea as to the gearbox, mileage or true weight of the car (ie. if it was stuffed full ...

Re: front brake pads
I'm not far off a front brake change, too, when I will be going back to OEM discs, and trying a different pad this time round. EBC Yellowstuff are on the list, but I have thought about a ceramic compound pad. These Redstuff pads seem like a decent one to try, but could anyone perhaps please answer a...

Re: Headlight Washer Stuck
My car does this occasionally, but only during very cold weather.
This may sound daft, but could it be sticky because of the weather?
