Not really LOL  I thought the whole Audi vs BMW thing and especially the S4 vs M3 thing would be very well documented on here.....but it all seems a bit vague - i have found some very interesting videos on www.streetfire.net though which are worth watching!! Seems to me that no one has raced on...

Sorry mate but there is no way your standard 265bhp S4 beat a 343bhp E46 M3 in in Cab format the M3 would sonly be about 25kg heavier than an S4 - cab adds 100kg onto M3 Coupe weight.... It doesnt make sense - have you considered that you were racing and he was just driving?? My S4 wasn't std, had ...

but regardless of the off the line advantage once moving the E46 M3 is a faster car. My original question was if I buy an S4 and take it to MRC for stage one then gut the cats - will it keep up with an E46 M3 once rolling....... Having looked at it I dont see how an S4 with those mods could.....its ...

Exactly - torque is irrelevant if the correct revs are dialed in - sure torque helps out of corners and gives you more driveablility but my old Integra R had bugger all torque yet was pretty quick in a line once in the vtec zone. I dont see how an S4 with 4wd powertrain losses would live with an M3...

I was runing 328bhp and 412ib/ft (according to AMD) my pals 996 c2 had no trouble losing me in 3rd gear from the same speed they are only 320bhp(ish) and 280ib/ft(ish). lets see what happens when MRC get it back to me with 460bhp :) dinner time :) I hope Exactly - torque is irrelevant if the correc...

Excellent - cheers guys, yeah i know i need to get the Brakes/ suspension sorted too. So in a straight line if I gut the precats and pay a visit to MRC then i'll be sorted. so will that produce around 320-330 bhp?? The e46 M3 pushes 343bhp how can the S4 be faster bearing in mind 4wd power train los...
