I had exactly the same problem and it is easy to fix and costs nothing !! The last poster is spot on, its just a dry joint on the small blackbox attached to the CD changer cradle in the passenger side cubby hole in your boot. You can confirm this by wiggling the connector going in and as if by magic...

Big Thanks this valuable advice has saved me time and money ...

I have seen a nice red one recently on either auto trader or ebay - think it was ebay actually..

It fits your description just needs a bit of paint work, there was a mark to the rear bumper and some marks on the bonnet.

Good price as well..

Good luck.....

I think there is a lot of cloak and daggers stuff to fitting these radios. If my recent experience is anything to go by. I too was quoted £100 to fit a RNS -d sat nav unit into my B5. I was going from a single din to a double, i had fitted all the cage etc and just left the hole where i wanted the n...

There are some stunning retrimmed areas in that cabin...Didn't know where to look first.

Pioneer looks great and quite factory looking as its flush fitting.

Who does the steering wheel retrims or are they a bought in item ?
