Its a bit far but it was Ingrams authorised repairer in Ayr in Scotland, i know them well, if you want ill ask him and see what they can do for you?

Can anyone help, few months ago, the system started crackling and buzzing intermittentley, when you turned the volume up you could hear the click through the speakers but no other sound, i replaced the bose unit in the boot and it was ok for 2 months and believe it or not yesterday under hard accele...

In the last 3 years, all its needed is all the diff seals, rear spring, rear wheel bearings, gearbox mounts, engine mounts, instrument cluster, 2 door speakers, cam cover gaskets, cam chain tensioner, new set of hard wheels, window motor, and a £75 power steering pipe that requires the gearbox out!!...

Sounds Exactly like mine did and after checking every cam lobe lobe was perfect, i did check the cam chains and they were fine too, remember theres 30 valves moving, 30 valve springs moving, 4 cam shafts turning, 30 hydraulic tappets, how quiet can they make them? it is a supercar!!!! you heard a po...

found a pic of the chain tensioner its not that, its a gold unit with a large black vaccum pipe with a pita clip going in to it and a small grey pipe that you need to remove to get the cam cover off, any suggestions would be very welcome.......

i did check the chain as my old 16v golf had the same set up and the chain was perfect, can the tensioner rattle without loosenin the chain??

oh and it did have a ticking noise, while i was dirty i thought id have a dig around!!! its coming from the goldy coloured unit bolted on the back of the drivers cylinder head!!! any ideas????

Checked mine today, not too bad a job, 89000 miles, long life services until i got an they all look like new!!!! thankfully!!!
