Sorry to disappoint you but the recall is to replace the mounting bolts that connect the discs to the bells, not to replace the dics themselves!! A full check is made of the discs & they will be replaced if they're found to be faulty, but we've carried out a couple of these recalls & only the bolts ...

All Audi's are checked in the same way.

Vehicle should be standing on level surface, engine should be upto operating temp, oil temp should be at least 60 degrees C (100-110 degrees on RS4/6 & R8), switch engine off & allow to stand for approx 2 minutes (never more than 10 mins), then take reading.

Just got a letter in the post from Audi .. Recorded Delivery as well so I guess "its important" to get this recall done Letter says .. "We have subsequently established that one product enhancement should have been carried out whilst the vehicle was in the service department" .. Please call to book...

If you crank the engine for about 10 seconds & it doesn't start the oil warning will come on automatically, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the oil supply in the engine.
