What other items are suggessted then?

It looks like the engine in my S4 will be dropped shortly. The service documents mention a rattling heatshield on the left side, which is where the turbo is playing up.

With the engine out, this will be a good time to attend to other bits also.

OK. resurrecting an old thread... Turbo failure, left hand side, from inside the car, when boost is building, it sounds remarkably like the sound in the preceding clip. In addition, there is a rattle at idle. Is it fair to 'suspect' then that the manifold has separated internally? What is the exact ...

What are the primary causes of K03 failures, other than external factors? What is the inherent weakness?

Oil feed lines replaced.
Top end rebuild done.

RE: Re: S4, turbo failure

I've been thinking about the K04. These 03s are new, and I just need the car for banging up and down the motorway. Once the turbo's been replaced, I'll get it back in to the other place for a service and check over. The car won't be used a huge amount. 1 month out of 3 max. I'm battling with mobile ...

S4, turbo failure

Recently bought a S4, Sreg. Still awaiting v5. It's in Audi for some remedial work now on the turbo's, while I'm away. Is there anything else that I should get done while it's apart? Heatshields may be being attended to, as at least one of these has a rattle. On the test drive, power was good. Car g...

RE: cruise control

sort of a bump...

Checked both pedal switches, and these are fine.
Is there anyone on here with some technical pointers?
Is this something that Vagcom can help diagnose (excuse dumb question, I normally play with older kit)

cruise control

Some help required here.

'98 S4 saloon
It wasn't working when I bought it. I'd like to take a look, so some diagnostic pointers would be useful. Is there anything that is a common problem? Where are all the bits hiding?
When it is functioning, what indications are present?

S4. Silver. Someplace in Scotland

Hi Have just bought a S-plate S4 saloon. It's quite a hoot. A little tatty externally, but serves the purpose at the price. And it'll have a fairly easy life other than occasionally revving the nuts off it. Of interest now, is to get it serviced, just to make sure the really important issues are res...
