I drove from Somerset to Warwickshire and back yesterday, and I was not wringing it's neck but not hanging about either, basically trying to be smooth (two passengers) and as fast as roads and traffic would allow. I got nearly 23 mpg going up and over 24 coming back. That seems pretty reasonable, an...

RE: Adaptive headlights

Absolutely agree, I also had a fast late night drive home last night on A and B roads in Devon and Somerset, plus some narrow lanes at the end, that little extra bit of light into the bends is really handy! Ditto the bugs too - looks a mess this morning!!

Think someone must've done this with mine - they are very different and loud enough to hear in any situation.

Huge respect to you for being on here and looking forward, so many, probably me included, would be staring at a wall and feeling nothing but depression. Good man, get yourself a fantastic motor!

Misano/black optics, had never seen one in the flesh and I can remember being gobsmacked when I arrived at the guy's house and saw it on his drive. Like PetrolDave Think I might have gone for Nogaro if it was available, it's the heritage colour with special Audis I suppose. Thought about Mugello wit...

UNI555 - handling still fine with 20s? Any pics and was there any noticable difference in wheel/tyre weight between 19s and 20s? Here's a link to the original thread when I fitted them, Now on 10mm spacers all round, not 15mm at the rear as it says in the thread. Handling wise, seems absolutely fin...

I think I remember calculating the difference in rolling circumference between a new 255/35 and a new 275/30 was less than the difference between a new 255/35 and a worn 255/35, so why not? Absolutely, why not. I really don't understand Audi's objection either. Mind you, it seems to be entirely dow...

The engineers thing is just an attempt to reassure each other (ourselves?) that we aren't total numpties! :boots: No, we don't know better than the Audi nerds, I wouldn't have known where to start with designing a cyclonic seperator for a start....oh hang on though... Seriously, all we are talking a...

I feel for people like UNI555 though because whilst at the dealership last week I notice that a lot of new style A6 models now have the new 5 spoke RS6 style replicas on them. I do hate it when Audi dilute RS features to their lesser models as quickly as they do. Tell me about it! Noticed the same ...

RE: Re: Hubcentric wheel spacers are they safe?

Dave, I remember that too! (also pretty ancient!) although I think people used to use massive spacers, like 2 or 3 inches!!! I also remember people cutting the centre out of steel wheels and welding them back in the other way around! Plus of course the 10" leaf spring hangers jacking up the ...

RE: Hubcentric wheel spacers are they safe?

Not true, the spigot on the spacer locates accurately into the wheel in the same way that the hub would, the ones I used would actually stay in place on the wheel if you lay the wheel on it's back (I tried it). The bolts should be TUV approved and of the same quality as the originals, if not don't u...

I'd just do it. Look at the VW scene, so many people are doing it with no problems. I don't know what all the fuss is about with minor legalities! Best way is to contact an owner over there through a forum who wants a UK spec one and then arrange a swap... I wouldn't look for a swap, you might not ...
