RE: Re: RE: My car smells

Halfords sell an aerosol spray that is a bit like one of those insect spray bombs you can set off in a house. First start the car and close all the windows. Put the a/c on LO and at maximum speed. Set the system to re-circulate. Place the can in the back footwell with the passenger seat forward and ...

Weird thing happened

Hi Guys Hope you can help. Drove 350 miles down to St Ives, Cornwall on Tuesday in the avant. Great faultless drive. Didn't drive aggressively, just a nice leisurely pace and the odd occasional squirt on B roads. Whilst parking, I shifted into reverse. Whilst doing so, the gearstick felt as though i...

RE: Yellowing Carbon Fibre?

Yep - 19,200 miles old and both parts are yellow. Had the DRC shocks changed the other day and forgot to ask if it was a warranty issue. Have a feeling it will be deemed 'wear and tear'.

Re: RE: Re: RE: DRC issue has gone on long enough - any cure

My nearside front shocker is leaking - first problem for me. The car is going in tomorrow for them to have a look, what excuses should I look out for? This is a known problem that Audi has informed dealers about. I simply told my dealer that I had an occasional (and I really do mean occasional) kno...

Re: RE: DRC issue has gone on long enough - any cures?

No. What they've offered is an extended warranty on the existing system, and re-designed parts. DRC offers a soft spring rate for the times you're going in a straight line, but a high spring rate for better cornering. No single rate system can offer that balance - progressive rate springs and magne...

Got the DRC issue too...

Had the car in for some general maintenance and asked them to check the suspension as I've had a problem when turning the wheel right and hearing a 'clunk'. Only intermittant so wasn't sure if this was related to DRC. Also had the problem with a 'knock' as the car comes down after a speed hump. I th...

Thanks for the tip! Good to know the towing companies are the same everywhere... not.

Hoping this should'nt be a problem as I've hired a chalet with parking - snow could be an issue though.

Courchevel - Here we come...

Well - I've decided to take a well deserved skiing trip to Courchevel and what better way to get there (from London) than in my RS4...? So bloody excited! Setting off on Saturday. Am I wrong in thinking that the Alps are the perfect playground for an RS4 Avant? Any tips from anyone that has done the...
