Re: Fuel Pumps

Cool. l'll be curious to see how you get on, especially with installing the pump in the tank. Take some photos please.

Re: Fuel Pumps

And we're back to the original topic. :) After only 16 pages. I wonder how much more pressure the OE pumps can provide sufficient flow for. Probably you wouldn't need much of a pressure increase because it sounds like your injectors are almost coping, or are coping and the issue is elsewhere. I also...

Re: Fuel Pumps

85% duty cycle is pretty high. I'd be worried that they won't be running linearly at that kind of load. Could explain your lean conditions at WOT.

Re: Fuel Pumps

Don’t know about the injectors I’m afraid. If you’re not getting lean conditions on WOT then maybe it’s not necessary. I don’t know what injectors bam is using on the mental manual. Presumably uprated ones to give 750+ bhp.

Re: Fuel Pumps

Yeah, the last 2 or 3 miles in mine are at feather footed throttle. Even then I often have to leave it idling in the garage for a while until the oil temps drop back down to 90.

Re: Fuel Pumps

You might want to replace the V51 after run pump. It can fail (often without symptoms) and it’s extra protection for the turbos. I’m sure that, like me, you cool your engine down completely before turning it off, but it neve hurts to have a working V51. You could replace the injector seals. In for a...

Re: Fuel Pumps

Turbos might be unbalanced but since the problem is apparent at idle and low revs it’s much more likely to be a vacuum problem IMO. Did you ever swap back old the wastegate actuators? Since your cleaning is having obvious beneficial effects I would suspect that possibly your partial blockage might h...

There was a thread a feels months back about someone who sourced a reasonably priced exchange rack. Can’t remember if they fitted it themselves.

Re: Car struggled on first start up.... but just once!

Mine very occasionally has a spaz where it’ll rev too high after starting. It’s done it twice or 3 times since I’ve had it. IIRC there was a fault code for comms between the ECU and TCU. No MIL since it didn’t reoccur. Next start was always fine. I think that occasionally at startup the CAN bus trip...

Re: Where else can remap our TCUs?

First I’ve heard of it. I struggle to believe that, if there was a way of not modding the TCU, that both MTM and MRC would have missed it.

I could be convinced given a detailed argument, but I suspect you won’t get one.
