Re: Remote control

And it starts the car? It shouldn't work if you didn't swap the transponder or reprogram the ECU etc. to the new key.

Re: Remote control

Yeah, that's my thinking too. ALthough it's a bit of a faff reprogramming the key.

You could just change the remote fob bit and keep the key bit with the transponder. Depends what condition yours is in I suppose.

Thanks. Same to you. I might pull mine out of hibernation to take advantage of these nice cold air temps to get the most out of that forced induction. :FIREdevil:

Re: Need a replacement ABS module

I suspect the fault is not with the controller itself, which is what the pros are testing and finding not faulty. THere possibly is a genuine problem with the hydraulic pump and the controller is correctly reporting a fault. I think I would attempt to find a second hand abs unit (controller and pump...

I wonder if the tracking has gone out. Maybe check the condition of your bushes.

Re: Judder

Oh, just spotted it does it in neutral. Do those tests anyway. You never know. That would seem to rule out anything engine regime related, too.

Does it do it if you don't brake?

Re: Judder

Could be inner CV joint or central propshaft bearing. 30mph is where the box changes down too (slightly annoyingly), so it might be the torque converter lock up clutch. Or maybe it's just that the change down to 2nd introduces more engine braking, proportionally, causing the vibration to be felt in ...

Beautiful job. Did it cure your ticking at cold? I have the same but I think I can live with it, especially after seeing that ;)

Re: EGT sensors

Hmm. Hard to believe that both failed at the same time. Clear the codes and see if they come back. You don't want to be changing those if you can avoid it. The access is a nightmare.

Maybe they were unplugged from inside the engine bay at some point recently?

Re: Torque Converter finally gave up.

Possibly the crank oil seal. You might want to replace the EGT and lambda sensors while they are accessible.

Did you remove the engine and box or is the engine still in the car?

There used to be a lot of threads on what to do while the box was out. Might be worth a search back through the forum.
