Switch or connector on the gearbox. They are 'designed' to collect water. The garage told me they re-routed my cable when it was replaced to avoid the same problem again.

Interesting comment about the rear leg room, is it worse than other A4's? Assume the wingback seats must eat into rear leg room in that case? I think to be fair to the RS4, the standard A4 is also v.poor. Not sure about the seats, as I've not got buckets, but I'm sure somebody on here will be able ...

If you take the dog out the equation, the RS4 is not that good a family car IMO. The rear leg room is pityful, and is certainly put to shame by my 1.4TD Fiesta, which I'm about to set off to Silverstone in with the wife and two kids - and that's a two hour trip for us each way.

Out of all the Audi's you see driving on the UK roads, I doubt more than 1% of owners would want to supply their own parts, so profit wise it will make FA difference to the dealers. (IMO of course)
