When they are upstairs with your wife and/or kids, it's open season then. Anything else and your on a sticky wicket, at least in the UK anyway.

I seem to recall many moons ago that some BMW's had a OEM keypad fitted in the dash that required the entry of a code before allowing the engine to start. (a 325i that I drove had it). Clearly no technology is infallible, but a modern day version of that would put a stop to people breaking in to you...

You want to change the locks in your house as well - if you have euro style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftAwVEgRCdw That's how they got in mine. Sorry if you didn't know about this, but it really is that simple to break into most houses in the UK, and I didn't know until the morning I got up. Ala...

RE: Rs4

As some of you may know/remember, we had a visit in the middle of the night last September, looking for the keys to the RS4 - this is assumed by the police, since we are not aware that anything was stolen. It's doesn't seem to be that well known that it takes under a minute for somebody to break in ...

RE: My car thinks its going backwards!

Switch or connector on the gearbox. They are 'designed' to collect water. The garage told me they re-routed my cable when it was replaced to avoid the same problem again.

Out of interest did you keep the car garaged? On the driveway. Insurance wise, I live in a low risk area, as it would have cost me £3 more to put it in the garage. As per a lot of people, the garage is full of other less valuable stuff - mad isn't it? I was only talking to the Mrs recently about ge...

Car Gone

It is with some regret that I sold the RS4 on Friday. I'd kind of come to the decision to keep it and start spending a bit of money on it, however things can happen to change your mind. Without going in to too much detail, we had visitors last week in the middle of the night who wanted the keys. The...

Interesting comment about the rear leg room, is it worse than other A4's? Assume the wingback seats must eat into rear leg room in that case? I think to be fair to the RS4, the standard A4 is also v.poor. Not sure about the seats, as I've not got buckets, but I'm sure somebody on here will be able ...

If you take the dog out the equation, the RS4 is not that good a family car IMO. The rear leg room is pityful, and is certainly put to shame by my 1.4TD Fiesta, which I'm about to set off to Silverstone in with the wife and two kids - and that's a two hour trip for us each way.

Out of all the Audi's you see driving on the UK roads, I doubt more than 1% of owners would want to supply their own parts, so profit wise it will make FA difference to the dealers. (IMO of course) :)
