Starter button and cruise control not working....

Got in the car yesterday and pressed the starter button (did not hold down) it coughs and nothing. Held it down car starts and feels fine. Have been driving since and you need to hold the started button down and it fires up fine. At the same time noticed the cruise control doesn't work....is this re...

I cant think of a replacement until the new one comes along (hopefully). I cant decide if I like the car more in the wet or the sun - wet I think, then I am dumb struck by its abilities. I had it out in the alps this year and drove my Mrs crazy with sideways antics on winter rubber - nice. All this ...

It is all worth it.......

I occasionally think about getting rid of my rs4 costs too much too thirsty road tax...ouch expensive to repair / maintain depreciates renew warranty / don't renew it kind of drives me mad as: have to park it away from other cars keep it clean stop my kids dribbling all over it friends lecturing me ...

Brake pads - experience wanted!

Hi All, Any recommendations on brake pads for road and maybe a few laps of the local circuit. Mine have about 1000 miles left on them and was quoted gulp £366 by dealer fitted. Also how easy are they to change. I have owned race motorbikes and changed these regularly (4 pot callipers) any difference...

RE: Re: Anti corrosion measures

Thanks for that. I have used Waxoyl today. My Mrs had a mini cooper and door catches (not hinges) handles, wipers and bits of chrome etc all started to bubble and corrode on a car not 3 years old so a little paranoid as been a long wait to get my hands on an RS4. Went for the full wash, polish etc t...

Oil colour and consistency

Hi All, Just getting the chance to get to know my new RS4. Had the car a few months but been working abroad so not had much bonding time apart from a motorway trip from Europe. I am loving the car and finding out a bit more every day about its capabilities and so far very impressed. Today I gave her...

Hi All, Have always bought tyres from blackcircles and had locally fitted. If I buy tyres only from the internet can I trust a local fitter with my RS4 alloys and what should they charge to fit...is this normal to buy the tyres and have someone fit them. I am considering the Vreds from Camskill as b...

Anti corrosion measures

Hi All, Loving my RS4 and looking for some advice. I live on the coast and want to protect the car, engine, exhaust, and any other suspect bits (I cant polish) etc from corrosion. On my motorbike I have been using Scottoiler anti corrosion products to protect the bike from road salt and salt in air ...

Hi I also have the wintrax on my right hand drive RS4 in Switzerland as working here at the mo. I am living in the mountains and these are really good. Have not had to use snow chains yet (have weissenfels that just fit) and I have a very steep (dangerous to walk down) long single track driveway and...

Hi I have an 06 R6 road bike and a slightly destroyed track R6 which I must fix up. I love bikes and got really into track stuff but after tasting a little too much of tarmac have bought the RS4. Still ride the bikes but you cant always exploit the power. Think a supermoto might be the answer......I...

100 octane fuel in an RS4

Hey all, I am currently in Switzerland in my new (to me) RS4 and loving it. The Shell V power fuel and equivalents is 100 octane as oposed to 98. Anyone got any experience of using this and can I use it as the handbook says 98 only and I am currently using 95 - both fuels are cheaper in Switzerland ...

Thanks guys, feedback appreciated and it is nice to finally own one of those (almost as get it on Monday). Previous car was a mark V R32 with bucket seats etc and bought it 10 months ago as it was a bit like an RS4s little brother but it doesnt have the thrust that the RS4 had or the steering feel. ...
