High pitched whine from back of engine

I've noticed a high pitched whine from the back of the engine on my B5 RS4. It's barely noticable from the cabin (spotted the noise with window open when a van was next to me bouncing the noise back at some lights). When I open the bonnet it's pretty loud. It stops briefly when I blip the throttle, ...

Tailgate trim removal question

Hi I would like to get at the inner workings of the tailgate to remove the corroding lock/number plate light panel for re spray and also investigate what I suspect to be water ingress that is making my boot release button behave like it has a mind of its own. I cannot see any screws on the tailgate ...

Re: Engine start problem

I'm having a similar issue. Totally at random, the call simply wont start, it just turns over and over. Seems to be getting worse. 5-10 tries still no luck after 30 mins. Was at the point of phoning the AA and it started perfectly. I was lucky enough to have VCDS on my laptop in the car, plugged it ...

Non-starter - turns over but won't start - VCDS is clear

Hi My RS4 B5 has started perfectly for years - literally, but has just begun not starting. Engine turns over at normal speed, but doesn't fire up. There is what sounds like a relay clicking rapidly under/behind the right side of the dashboard whilst its trying to start which it doesn't normally do. ...

ISOfix bracket supplier

VAGparts looks to have stopped trading. Does anyone know where I can get the ISOfix retrofitting kit for the RS4 B5?

My natural assumption that direct approach to Audi would be a rip-off.

RE: Cracked radiator - Radweld?

Thanks - is this stuff ok to use on an RS4 B5? i.e. no narrow sections in the cooling system that could get clogged?

Cracked radiator - Radweld?

I've got a small crack in my radiator (speedbump damage) and coolant is very very slowly dripping out (one drop per day onto garage floor). Damage is months old and the coolant level seems barely to have changed. Doesn't seem worth spending £hundreds on a replacement radiator at this point. Has anyo...

Motorway driving when oil is cold

I'm about tot change my commute, but it means I'll be driving on the motorway before the oil temp gauge starts to move as I live within 2 miles of it. Obviously not ideal from an engine wear perspective. Any ideas on what the best way to drive on the motorway is whilst the oil is cold? Is it a no br...

Thanks guys

I pulled the radio fuse in the car fusebox to check it earlier.

Will pull it again and leave it out for a while (might get lucky).

Off to try and source some removal keys.

Thanks

Any idea how you get the header unit out of the dashboard? There don't seem to be any holes for access etc.

Read Radio Unit - any ideas?

I had to jump start my RS4 this morning due to a flat battery (left the interior light on overnight after fitting a phone mount). Everything seems fine except that the radio unit is completely dead. It does not power up at all. Tried the power button obviously, but no joy. I've checked fuse 37 which...
