RE: Traction in the Snow
The main problem on the icy roads was other idiot road users. You just don't know what to expect from some of the clowns out there - worst for me was a Lexus 4x4 who overtook me at big speed on single carriageway road, really icy and bendy - fcuking crazy driving all because he thought IT'S A FOUR W...

What are you going to change to? That's the B5 problem - I decided recently that I didn't need the space of the RS4 so had a look and decided on a total change to a Z4M Coupe, primarily because I love the look.... Test drove one and it just felt too slow - obviously it was great through the twisties...

RE: has anyone posted a vid or sound clip of the bad cam tic
Don't think so .... but I'm planning on checking my cams this week so I'll try to record something and, depending on what mine look like, it will be a recording of healthy cams (please god) or unhealthy...

In direct answer to your question: For context: I had a 2.0Tdi A3 before I bought my RS4 a few months ago. Last weekend I had to drive to Sligo, in north-west Ireland - about 280 miles roundtrip. I used to hate the journey - HATE IT - because the traffic is generally bad and the roads are poor etc. ...

RE: fixing wipers, hit a hitch with the ECU box...
Lads I talked to Vagparts about which part number I actually need and they say that the RS4 comes up with a LHD only linkage for the RS4 .... I guess it must be the same part for both Right and Left cars, anybody know?

RE: fixing wipers, hit a hitch with the ECU box...
Thanks again Grizz - got the ECU box moved today and the mechanism out (eventually!)... Then ingeniously split a spline in half trying to free it from its housing with a hammer! Bugger. I need a new mechanism now so phoned the local stealers, they say the Audi part number will take 5 days but a part...
