I would not have thought it would be any different from a standard B6/B7 vehicle. Why would it affect the stability programme? I recall that was something to do with oil cooling, possibly that the S4 oil cooler operation is marginal and if loaded (ie towing a heavy load) then I guess Audi believe t...

cant really help Dave, Ive never *tried* to fit chains to the standard wheels - only to my 2nd set (Michelin Pilot Alpine PA2 225/45 R17) The 225/45/17 is the wheel size stated in my owners manual; which also says that chains cannot be fitted to 235/40/18 Of course it doesnt mean they wont fit; and ...

RE: Snow Chains

have a look in your owners handbook ? Mine (B6 dutch version) states front wheels only. and also answers the wheel size problem for the B6. Somewhere on rs246, about 2 years ago I think, I put a few posts on the subject. Dont know if you are a B6 or B7 but for my B6 chains dont give the needed clear...

I agree; my gear change 'problem' is almost unnoticeable and for me not such a problem - so I think you have a bad example. I am seriously HAPPY with my car as a stealth fighter bomber that can also carry the family and 2 tons of childrens-stuff over 1000km and go easily up snow-covered mountains to...

Re: Hi

2. Dodgy gear change 2nd and 3rd. Pete yep. Think there are a few posts on the forum. I found that just slowing down the change makes a difference. I also only notice it when changing up; so maybe its a sort of synchromesh issue. To be clear though, it isnt at all bad on my car, I only noticed it a...

RE: S4 Buyers Guide?

hi Miles, welcome ! The S4 B6 is now becoming increasingly common as a 2nd hand buy (3-4 year old cars coming on the market) and there are now a few similar threads on this forum (so have a really good browse down the topics list..). The picture I get is that there seem to be very few serious system...

....it made 261.8 bhp @ the wheels - which working it out @ the fly is 349.9 bhp... I'm amazed at the difference ! (where does the missing 90 bhp go ?). I never thought about it before but it sort of implies that 90 bhp is used within the transmission chain, driving bearings and gear friction and g...

RE: Which oil for top up ?

check the users handbook; it identifies the permitted oil standards for longlife service, and for fixed-interval. See also the following thread where I put the info from my B6 S4 handbook: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=49404&view=previous This talks about "multigrade ...

RE: Switching off the passenger airbag

My 2003 B6 also doesnt have the key in glovebox. When I checked I remember that it was (as Merlot correctly states) an option. I think that you cannot only have part of the "option" - you have to have the key AND the ISOFIX; but I'm not 100% sure....... (just 90% :)

I like the understated silver (Avus Silver), because its so,,,,, errrrr, understated. Minimises unwanted attention. I also think the grey's look good

(IMHO) worst has too be Imola yellow.

Has nobody done a poll yet ?!
