Re: BANG
It's a sad day but I have been forced to sell my RS4. The fuel bills and tyres, not to mention servicing, were all pretty costly to me anyway, but now with the turbo failure and subsequent rebuild, I'm wiped out. Thankfully, a chap I know through a friend of a friend (nudge nudge), offered to buy it...

Re: red is common
Spooky that you should say the Goodwood Green RS4's are the rarest. I think this also, as I've only ever seen one, in videos or in real life. Thankfully, it was in real life, and it lives just down the road from the University of Bath where I am currently studying! Anyone that's local or knows the a...

Re: F1 Australia
It was a top race wasn't it! But then we had lots of factors which aren't normally about - new cars and colour schemes, new teams, new drivers, slippery conditions, and of course the nostalgia factor as it's been months since we had Formula 1! It was a particular joy to watch Schumacher's car fall a...

Don't mean to sound a bit like an accountant, but why pay so much more money for sh!tty plastic windows, a dodgy paintjob, and some slightly different wheels and aerodynamics?! It makes almost no difference! For the extra money you could have a serious suspension setup and some MAJOR brakes fitted. ...

Re: clutch pedal clicking when pressed - problem?
It could be the switch or it could be part of the clutch valve itself. I'd have thought it's more likely to just be part of the actual pedal mounting and assembly itself though. I've never had this problem either, although sometimes when cold the clutch does bite a little hard and that feels like cl...

Re: Insurance for RS4
You oldies all have it easy! I'm only just up to 5 years no claims, and the cheapest I could find for my RS4 was £2400!!! That's with a £250 excess. I get ripped off because of where I live apparently, and I've got various track driving liscence bits added onto my liscence, which I thought would bri...

The new V70R's are a bit tasty, same as the S60R just bigger, and an estate. Don't diss Volvo estates anymore me ol' matey, they're swift. 300 horses, and a fair bundle of torque too. And reliable. Otherwise, you're right, not too many other options. Subaru Impreza WRX? Or the Forrester of course. I...

Matt C go on my son! JR, what a bitch, can't believe that people could actually do that. I agree with the idea that they must be on the lookout for these wheels for a specific reason, that's no impulse theft. My old A8 4.2 had the 17" 5 spoke beasts on it that were rather desireable apparently, and ...

Normally, yes, but even then I'd have to prove that there was emtal fatigue which wasn't caused by me being an exciteable monkey BUT, and this is a big butt here, my compressor was uprated to provide the extra boost, so the turbine fans weren't original, and thu...

Re: BANG
OK, here's the story as I understand it from a mad Japanese scientist. As I lifted off, one of the DV's stuck just a lil bit, kicking up the turbo pressure, which put extra stress on the compressor (understandably). I had freak metal fatigue in part of one of the compressor turbine fans, which shatt...

Must agree! What a fantastic link! Some great pictures and video footage, and I love the "about" section - Nice one Thorney Oh, by the way, I think I have fallen in love with your car. Despite lairy stickers all over it, it still managed to look better than ...

Re: Which cars does an RS4 have to fear??
The 400R's were amazing. I saw one in yellow once, and it was the five door. And they said the M5 was the first 400hp supersaloon. Sorry, I know this will offend, but I don't like the M5. It's the modern day equivalent of the old Rolls, "the hemhorroid" (or however you spell it). Every arsehole's go...

Re: traction system alterations
You'd get a similar result, but you'd get nasty flatspots in your rear tyres, which causes BIG vibrations at speed if they get bad, and it nackers the handbrake too, not to mention REALLY pissing off the Quattro drivetrain. I never like using the handbrake in a 4wd car. I know there are gizmos in th...

Re: RS2 Vs RS4
I think they may be Greddy turbos actually, but I'm a bit oblivious. I'm not the smartest when it comes to details and how all the bits work, I just know it costs me loads but all works rather nicely!

Re: Which cars does an RS4 have to fear??
JR doubting me! Fair play! I'm on 360mm discs rather 380, as you're right "he no fit". The 360's are tight as a ducks bum though, which is always nice! I'm on standard rims though, as I love them to bits.
