Re: immobiliser issues
All UK spec RS2 came fitted with a factory immobiliser and alarm which is armed when the doors are locked. There is a flashing light to indicate this in one of the switch blanks in the centre console. In addition to this insurance companies at the time would insist on an uprated alarm/immobiliser. A...

Re: Why ... ?
Some people are just serial car changers - posters on car forums tend to be like that. I, however,
have owned my RS2 since new as it was built specially for me.

Re: Strange..
I own the RS2 since 1997 I went in 2006 to big reds with the 322mm discs. I used twice the discs from the 964 turbo (965-351-045-00 and 965-351-046-00) the ones you say they're no good.... I can understand all you said about the floating disc, that they're better and this and that.. But those discs...

Re: Michelin PS3 - tyre wear
You may recall that I recommended going for the XL rated 94Y version which is what I did. I have only done ~ 1000 miles since that time and naturally have no real tyre wear issues to report. The RS2 runs very well on te PS3. With regard to your specific problem something is not right as typically th...

Re: Privacy Glass vs no privacy glass on a daytona grey RS3
Privacy glass seems to work well on a Daytona RS3 - Alu Pack does not and makes the car look chavvy. You will no doubt please the Corsa boys with the Alu Pack

Re: Winter Wheels And Tyres
How do you find the diamond polish edges cope with the salt? I've heard conflicting reports about corrossion of the exposed surfaces albeit i pretty much bathed mine in G-Techniq C5 when I got it so they should be good to go. The wheels may very well have been diamond cut on a lathe to get the flat...

Re: Insurance options
Well, Admiral consider all factory fitted options to be 'standard' so no additional cost. They were less than half the price that Direct Line wanted! If you mean standard UK spec then yes but anything you have added as as extra cost option needs to be declared to Admiral e.g. say if you had the BOS...

Re: Fuel Consumption
Rarely driven hard? How the hell do you drive that and not give it the beans? How about trying Tesco 99 for a few fills and comparing? Car is driven mostly by my other half - she did not pass her test until later in life and went straight from her first car - a 1 litre Nissan Micra to the RS3. I wo...

Fuel Consumption
Just wondering what everyone else is getting for average fuel consumption as I seem to be getting what I consider poor fuel economy. Car has done 3500 miles, seems to perform as it should, is run exclusively on Shell V Power and rarely driven hard. Predominantly driven in D mode. Fuel consumption ga...

Re: DSG Question..
Noticed this myself last night! My M3 CSL and E60 M5 both changed up themselves but last night when showing off I noticed it hit the limiter in 2nd and when I blipped to 3rd there was a slight delay due to hitting the limiter. This thing could do with shift lights!!!! The M3 CSL (and the E60 M5) ha...

Re: Tyre replacement for RS2
The answer is relatively simple - the old OEM Dunlop SP8000 was a tyre specifically developed by Dunlop for the RS2. It was marked as 245/40ZR17 but the actually size was more or less exactly 225 width. The tyre had specially strengthened tyrewalls to cope with the weight of the RS2 and it's ability...

Re: GOT A PUNCTURE!!!!
The lack of fitment of TPMS to the RS3 is a big mistake. The tyrewalls on the tyres make it more or less impossible to tell if you have a puncture or underinflated tyre at a glance and even if you push the tyrewall with your thumb on an underinflated tyre, there is not much difference.

Re: "S-Button" & suspension characteristics
I agree with doodlebug - the ride on the RS3 is very firm and poorly surfaced roads are not a pleasant experience.
Personally, I think the suspension has been set too firm for the sorts of roads we have in the UK.

Re: Retro Fitting to RS3
AFAIK the extended warranty coverage is different and inferior to the coverage which the 5 year warranty includes.
