The Maf connectors could be corroded, clean with contact cleaner and also clean the MAF with IPA. Do a serch on S2 forum http://www.s2forum.com/forum/ for all MAF and Idling problems. You may need to clean the ISV as well.

My MRC (R)S2 coupe was Dyno'ed by a very conservative Bosch Inertia Dyno at an altitude of 1600m with 102Octane. It made 189KW@4500 and 422Nm@4000rpm on the wheels. I have the same Dam Problem on my (R)S2coupe, Tested the Bomb and the brake pedal goes rock solid after 50pumps.
I will try overfilling. It also shows that the roads here in CT are getting more bumpy.
My RS2avant did this but that was solved by a slight top up of the fluid.

11.5l/100km @ 120km/h
13.5l/100km @ 140km/h
15.0l/100km for city stop go.
17.0l/100km when giving it WOT alot.
These figures go up about 2/100km or more when the lamda sensor is dirty or needs replacement.

My S2 uses no oil and has 85 000km . The RS2 has 155 000km and It can use about a pint for every 2000km when driven hard. I am using a synthetic oil from Petronas.

Ralp, i have just upgraded my RS2 with a Mihnea chip set and it pulls very smoothly. If you like you can drive the car or try the ecu in your car.
I have the same lamda problem. I use Leaded which is suppose to give better protection.

I participate in Hill Climb events with my S2 and this is a real blow I can empathise with. Well As long as the driver is fine....
