Re: Caution: hi temp!

Timucin, if the engine is not really getting hot try disconnecting/changing the multi function temp sensor. This is on the coolant manifold (3 pin plug, I think) under the inlet manifold, when this malfuntions it can also reduce performance, as happened to someone else recently, here: http://www.s2f...

Re: what should be the exhaust pipe size?

Timucin,

I've attached a picture of the way mine has been fitted, but remember this gets very loud when the wastegate opens.

Re: what should be the exhaust pipe size?

Timucin,

I'm using a 3 inch (76mm) downpipe, and I think thats just about right, I also have a seperate straight through exhaust for the wastegate that exits just under the drivers door (right hand drive) although this is a bit loud when on full boost when the wastegate opens.

Re: Power steering pump blown

Dave,
I went to Whetstone Audi but the bloke that sold me the plug has moved to Colindale, if you give him a call on 0208 5375730 and ask for Sandy he might be able to help you get the part.

Re: Power steering pump blown

Dave, Yes I got it from Whetstone Audi in North London about 18 or so months ago, I'm really p**sed off that I,ve lost the invoice. I think it was described as a seal repair kit and I dont think it was specific to the S2, I am going there tomorrow and if the same bloke is there I'll ask him, as he k...

Re: Power steering pump blown

Dave, I think the differences are primarily between the earlier servotronic equipped S2's and the later ones that came without it (probably the number of outlets on the pump). I also believe that there is a pressure relief valve in the pump itself. On mine (ABY non-servotronic) there is a round plug...

Dougal,Greg,

I have ordered the Whiteline rear ARB from DT's today so I'll let you know if it fits when it turns up in the 4 to 6 weeks delivery time quoted . Ive gone for the adjustable version (18mm bar).
