Interesting. Do you race your S4, I wonder? It drive mine very hard all of the time and have had no problem at all with disks - have you seen the size of them - they are bin lids? :) The brakes are duel rate you know - so they will seem quite soft until you need them. I have had people saying - inc...

Thats interesting, I could have told Audi that, mine had the chains and tensioners changed which made no difference at all. The dealer has promised to fix the fault but Audi need time to investigate. Rang the dealer last week and the next item under suspicion is an oil control valve which is being c...

Thanks. So the standard plain Audi discs are the best then, slightly surprised by this but i have faith in German engineering from past experiance. Not changing because of any problems apart from slight warpage on the fronts, not suffered any fade so far. I will be changing to DS2500 pads allround, ...

Grooved aftermarket discs
Hi all, Just wondered if anybody can recommend a make and supplier for good grooved discs for my S4. The fronts are going to need replacing soon so i would like to upgrade them all with something a bit better. I've got a bit of vibration from the fronts and i don't have much confidence in the standa...

Chains and tensioners not the problem IMO
I've had all the tensioners and chains replaced under warranty and it's exactly the same, no improvement. I personally think its something to do with the variable valve timing gear because when it makes the noise the engine also misfires a few times, I've got a Milltek exhaust so its easy to hear :D...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Warranty Direct ?
Yep, providing that Audi can actually fix it, mine's been in several times, engines been out and chains and tensioners replaced and it's now slightly worse. Would they pay for that?philipwalker wrote:Timing chains on start up, that will make a big hole in that.
PS. anybody aware if Audi have found a cure yet?

Re: RS4 vs AMV8 Roadster
I can confirm that the Rs is significantly faster than the AM when you hit 5/6k revs, great look on my mate's face when my estate car pulled away on the autoroute - also carrying most of his luggage! I can confirm that even a lowly S4 is significantly faster than an AMV8 Vantage around an ex F1 cir...

I bought it only recently, didn't do it when i road tested it, only noticed it after a few days. It only happens when the engine has been standing for an hour or two after a run. It doesn't do it from cold or when hot. I was at the dealer yesterday to talk to the technician. They have replaced all ...

Hi Matias, Mine was quite bad, sounded very metallic with a couple of loud clunks. It is being dealt with by my dealer under warranty. Engine out, new chains, tensioners and other assoc bits. Should be getting it back soon i hope, been missing it. Andy Did the noise evolve with time or all the sudd...
