RE: First time usage of VAGCOM
That thought had crossed my mind...in some ways you would expect owners of a car such as the RS4 to know about vagcom, but equally not all RS4's are enthusiast owned...but that then opens the possibility of "Would you want to buy it if it's not been cherished?"...the argument could roll on for ever....

Ikea for the win...
Turn up at 10pm at night and it's pretty quiet and civilised rather than the usual scrum.

Yup, sounds good...provided I've actually got an RS4 by then! Today's dyno run on the Integra has caused a conflict in my mind

RE: Hi-tech material - seat repair
Agreed, I do fine the HT does hold you better. Replacing the complete seat seems a little extreme, given that the current seats are otherwise good - also (price dependant) at that point you could probably start looking at retrimming all the centres - blue Alcantara ala RS2 perhaps?

Hi-tech material - seat repair
Well, I think I've found the potential car, but there are a couple of niggles that will need sorting, one of which is the rear seat, which is otherwise in good condition. The back seat has been caught by something sharp at some point, and it's put a small cut in the base. The leather can be replaced...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Brake Fluid recommendations please...
So does anyone else feel as thought the SRF goes off so quickly (i.e 4-5 months) or has DolpiN Tech really "abused" his brake fluid to some real extremes? Lol...I know I'm hard on brakes, but I think I'd really have to be going some to boil SRF under normal circumstances! I'm fairly sure that the p...

Re: RE: Brake Fluid recommendations please...
Thnaks for the replies so far - other than DolphiN Tech's reply, it seems pretty much a no brainer! Sorry, that might have seemed like I was spitting the dummy! I do agree SRF is the best performing brake fluid, but it does seem to require more frequent changing - in my experience it was starting t...

RE: First time usage of VAGCOM
Well, I fly a computer all day, so you would think I should be able to work it out, but forewarned is forearmed, hence wanting to run the checks before buying. It does seem as simple as I was hoping, and the error messages seem reasonably self-explanatory. I've inwardly digested the buyers guide in ...

RE: Brake Fluid recommendations please...
I'm running Brembo LCF600 on the Integra at the moment, gets a definite 2-thumbs but can't be used on systems with magnesium components - not sure if this applies here? ATE's Super Blue/TYP200 is an interesting combo - same fluid but different colours so you know when it's fully flushed through. I'v...

First time usage of VAGCOM
I'll be ordering up the HEX USB VAGCOM for the impending RS4 B5 purchase, but was giving consideration to first time usage. Assuming the seller will allow, my intention was to do a check on the car I choose to try and get a more complete picture before purchase (and more bargaining power on any issu...

RE: NUMBER PLATES
The minimum is generally an VDR - vehicle defect rectification. Get it certified by an MoT station and then produce at police station within 7 days. However, they can also stick you on for a fine of up to £1000, and also confiscate the registration for withdrawal by the DVLA (generally personalised ...

Not quite...just a smart-ass who got there on a scholarship, and whose grandparents were rich enough to pick up the rest of the tab. By all accounts it's improved massively since I was there - I spent most of my 6th form in a pitched battle with staff over the fact that I'd had enough of being treat...

RE: NUMBER PLATES
Those are for pre-73 constructed cars only, as far as I recall, so would be illegal for your B7.
Whether or not you get tugged for it is anyone's guess, but the police are supposedly in the midst of a crackdown.
