RE: Re: RE: Tensioner Rattle Reduction on Startup
I have used this for the last 3 years since Guy at Opie recommended it. Its ester based oil and has clinging properties in it apparantly. I change the oil myself every 4k or so, then every 2 years have it serviced at Audi and supply this oil to be put in. They seem fine with that. It significantly r...

RE: Tailgate Sticking
Had it also. Boot switch in th tailgate most probably. When you are in there changing it, have a look around for signs of water ingress, its not uncommon for the Wiper motor seal to leak where the washer hose passes through it, and leak water into the taigate from your rear window washer. This in tu...

Re: RE: Tailpipe valve??
remove it, there is a guide here on the B7 RS4 as its the same concept. I had to use loads of WD40 and a long screwdriver and hammer to get it moving. Position it open then bung the pipes. cable tie them together so they dont flap around and voila you wouldnt happen to have a link to the guide woul...

Tailpipe valve??
Hey folks Little question. My S4 has developed a strange noise from the right bank exhaust tailpipe. On further investigation it would seem that the valve in one on the two pipes that comes out of each rear silencer is almost stuck shut. It looks vaccum controlled via air pipes. Anyone come accross ...

04 04 Avant with 75K on the clock. Price was about 550 i think, I will have to check. WD have a progressive parts contribution system wherby for every 10K over 60K miles the car has done the ownders contribution increases. EG 70K 10% 80K 20% 90K 30% and so forth.

Re: RE: Tensioner rattle video library?
I was reading a thread on Audizine where a guy had the usual rattle, but then the battery light came on then boom. So if your battery light comes on to show the alternator is charging pull over quick and investigate. I'm thinking of shelling out on a warranty just incase I use edge 5/30 oil but I m...

RE: Tensioner rattle video library?
I dont think this is a bad idea, altohugh to be honest mine is different every time. I change my oil every 4K using Fuchs Silkolene Esther based 5W/40 oil. its always slightly quieter after an oil change, but in between changes sometimes when starting it doesnt rattle at all, sometimes its loud, som...

RE: wine?
Unlike the Multitronic box the Tiptronic box does not require a box oil change, as according to audi is a lifetime fill. The advised change interval for the Multitronic is 40k although every 25k is advisable as they are prone to failure. I did some research on changing it anyway as I tend to edge on...

RE: Locked out of my boot!
There is a manual release for the boot catch and unless your interior tailgate cover has been off before and it has not been fed through into the warning triangle storage box then it should be in there. From what you are describing it sounds as though the actuator switch for the tailgate has failed....

RE: Re: RE: Timing chains AGAIN!!!
thanks for the reply yeah I will do that, I dont suppose thats too excessive in terms of parts, its the 20 hours labour involved thats possibly more worrying!!!! However the car is covered by extended warranty, I cant see how, as this is supposed to be a serviceless system, that such a failure would...
