Unlike the Multitronic box the Tiptronic box does not require a box oil change, as according to audi is a lifetime fill. There is a manual release for the boot catch and unless your interior tailgate cover has been off before and it has not been fed through into the warning triangle storage box then it should be in there. From what you are describing it sounds as though the actuator switch for the tailgate has failed....

My S4 does this but only in the wet. I posted a while back about it and Im sure its something to do with the Anti roll bar set up and the power to the front as mentioned here already. I know a guy that had a fulll suspension change under warranty on the N/S/F and it made no difference at all.

I would check out the vibration through the throttle pedal. I had a similar thing with mine and it turned out that the alternator was slack!!!! Could have been interesting if it had fallen off! Only found it when the aux belt was changed! Glad you are enjoying the car though
