Re: Rs4 alloys will they?

I had some ABT alloys on the S4 when purchased. These had an offset of ET30 (the car has the Brembo big brake kit added) After a long winter with many, many potholes and the alloys cracking I bit the bullet and bought these: http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad268/grum71/S4rearNS.jpg Size: 19x8.5 w...

Re: Xenon flickering

Although these are 100% working (I had 2 nights of complete nightmares with bulbs and ballasts) they are old and so wouldn't want to pass them on (will just keep in a cupboard for spares that I'll probably never use). My advice would be to buy a pair - or pass the info onto Audi and allow them to fo...

Re: Xenon flickering

I had a similar problem on my B6 S4. Changed the bulb with little difference (after a day or so) - it turned out to be the ballasts (http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=81758&p=358831#p358831) Bought a replacement, fitted, problem solved: http://www.allpartssouthwest.com/html/find_us.html Ve...

Re: Anyone seen this before...

I had the same on some ABT alloys. had one of them repaired (welded) which, at the time was fine but another appeared some Months later. I wouldn't advise doing as I did and having them welded - in my opinion it weakened the alloy.
Definately damage from a pothole. Damn things!

Re: Auto question....

I have a n auto S4 avant. No issues with the 'box. Don't get these mixed up with the mult tronic boxes on standard A4's (which have an inbuilt ecu). All down to personal choice.
As Edmond said - it's a V8. Nail some Millteks underneath and you can't go wrong

Re: Insurance Rant

+1 for More Than (and adding female driver who will never use the car). £426. Admiral are quite competetive this year (insured 2nd vehicle with them - make sure you don't pay Monthly as this hikes up premiums considerably).

Audi [B6] Bose sub and amp (Brand New)

I have a Bose Sub and Amp which was purchased thinking mine wasn't working correctly (a friends S4 has more base than mine). After excellent info from this forum I bypassed the GALA wire at the rear of the headunit & my 'problem' was solved and so the replacement isn't required. The unit has never b...

Re: Change of Tyre Size

Ah, my mistake. Apologies for the duff info. Mine had ABT alloys on when I bought it but the spare is the original with...yes,...225 on it.

Off to the naughty step

Re: Change of Tyre Size

Standard tyre size for the avus alloys 225/40/18 so you will be returning the car to stock (speedo readings return to 'normal' as well.) If you have been offered a good deal on tyres then my opinion would be to stick with the 225's

Re: SAT NAV query

I should think so. It's easy to do yourself - honestly. Get some radio keys: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC5-93-Audi-TT-A3-A4-A6-Stereo-Release-Keys-Radio-CD-/160511873760?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item255f40d2e0 Remove the unit and you will see the plug at the back (small black wire). Unplug this and it...

Re: SAT NAV query

I think the roof 'shark fin' is for the radio (amplifier underneath it). The nav aerial is on the rear side windows (I could be wrong). If the RNSE (nav) has been fitted as a non option (aftermarket) then the dash mounted aerial is incorporated. Some fit them on top of the glovebox (under dash) othe...

Re: 4TH RS, now in a 6 :)

I have the RNSE with [factory analogue] TV in the S4. After we all went digital - no signal. I thought there must be a way around this so I searched the net and found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-VW-VOLKSWAGEN-VAG-NAV-TV-AUX-AV-INPUT-OUTPUT-LEAD-/250420383207?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_...
